Digital camera reviews of Philips DVP3345V/17 DVD/VCR ComboDigital camera Review: Can't hook it to your TV without more equipment Summary: 3 Stars
The title says it all. It cost me $30.00 more at Radio Shack to get the converter box. It works fine, but what good is a player that can't hook up to cable or your TV?
Digital camera Review: Combo DVD/VCR Summary: 3 Stars
My old DVD/VCR combo got a lot of use, I use the noise to help me sleep. My old dvd player would pause or skip or repeat scenes and the VCR ate 2 of my tapes.
This DVD/VCR has preformed phenomenally. I only wish it came with a tuner built in so it would be easier to set up. If you don't plan on recording programs and only want to use this to view old movies and dvd's this is a great product.
Digital camera Review: Convenient and Simple! Summary: 4 Stars
Great Product. I was a bit skeptical being that the item was refurbished, but it works like brand new. I especially like the tracking features for older vhs's that may be a bit snowy or squiggly. Recommend it highly.
Digital camera Review: Copies only from DVDs to VHS tapes Summary: 3 Stars
According to the review comment by M.W.Carle, by just reading the instructions, one can know how to use this unit to copy from VHS tapes TO DVDs. I would certainly like to know how when the only record function is on the VCR side. I have read the English section of the user manual completely and no where does in mention copying TO DVD. I have no need to copy from DVD to VHS. So, I purchased this unit based on Carle's statement. If you know how to get around this, please post again! I relied on the customer reviews because the product discription was so lacking. Wish that Amazon would take the time to be a lot more thorough. The packing box was covered with info that was not in the Amazon product discription. As a player, it will meet my needs. For copying our wedding VHS tape to a DVD...
Digital camera Review: DVD Player stopped working after 10 DVD's Summary: 1 Stars
I have never been so disappointed with Philips before. I got this in Dec for Christmas after using the DVD a total of 15 with new DVD's it now makes a clicking noise and freezes. I wrote Philips and they wrote back telling me to unplug the unit for 30 seconds and because it is out of there hands now (after 90 days) they wash there hands of this apparent defective unit that clearly has a motor issue. I would tell anyone who is purchasing this item, that if you end up buying it make sure you have an iron clad warranty, but honestly I would not waste my money on it.
