Digital camera Review: I can finally get Closed Captioning on Criminal Minds DVDs with this machine.

I bought this machine because it was the only vcr being sold at my local Target and it was on sale for the weekend for $65. It worked. The old VHS tapes played okay but not great with some skipping. but since I didn't have a dvd player either for the third tv which is not hooked up to cable, I wasn't too picky. It worked with my Philips flattv which is hooked up to cable just fine. I have no idea what the complaints are about. Received in April 2008. Initially worked fine. No tuner mainly for the kids' VCR and DVD on smaller TV. Image quality good. Poor build quality. DVD went bad after 9.5 months. VCR failed shortly after. By the End of Feb 2009 completely caput. I am looking for a replacement and unfortunately limited by cabinet shelf size so may need another combo playeer.Digital camera Review: Never had a chance to use it because it was incomplete. I had to buy a RF modulator to get it to work with TV and cable, was SO MAD when I discovered this. Complicated hookup just to play VCR. Now I've recently found some DVDs play in black & white JUST on this device and they work great on a less expensive player. I've never had trouble with Phillips equipment until this. I absolutely do not like this product and would never recommend anyone purchase it - new or used.Digital camera Review: No Tuner

Maybe there is some clue in the description of this item but it needs to be more clear that this does not include a tuner. At least the box had a big sticker on the outside warning that it does not have a tuner. Might be a nice 5-star item if you're hooking it to a cable box, but I had to return it unopened.
