This DVD player plays DVDs from any region. Definitely use it with an HDMI cable. With HDMI and HD TV, the player does a great job of upconverting the picture to high definition. DVDs look great. I've been wanting to play my region 2 dvds on a dvd player seamlessly. I got this item because it's cheap and I didn't need bells and whistle. It does a good job playing dvds. The dvd tray responds a little slow and the remote just has the basics except an eject disc button.Digital camera Review: Great product!

For the last 5 months this player has played one or two discs per day, sometimes more. I haven't found anything it wouldn't play. I've had everything from Sony's to dollar store garbage and none of them ever play for any great length of time.
Save yourself a lot of aggravation and a lot of money, at this price it may be one of the better deals on Amazon - you can't go wrong with this one.
I'm here to buy another one for a different room.
