Digital camera Review: Great Gadget for "Over the Air" HDTV

It doesn't look like much but this little gadget is picking up 95% of my local HDTV stations. I live 25 miles outside downtown Kansas City and get a great signal with this. In fact I've discovered that some local stations have 1 to 4 additional HDTV "sub" stations that carry weather, religious programming, and more. It is VERY sensitive to where it is pointed but as I said above I'm getting 95% without even moving the antenna.Digital camera Review: Great HD Reception (TV and Computer)

Initially purchased the antenna to receive additional HD not included on cable on my HD TV. Have since paired this antenna with an ATI TV Wonder 650 for HD reception and recording on my computer. It works FANTASTICALLY. Highly recommended NON-POWERED antenna. I live ~25 miles from tower in San Francisco.
(Update 1/2010) Upgraded computer to Windows 7 Ultimate. The ATI TV Wonder 650 does not have drivers to support Win7, and it doesn't look like they will be coming soon. Replaced the ATI with a Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1600. It works GREAT and the antenna is one of the best investments I've ever made.

I just bought an HDTV and don't want cable/dish...so I got this one and the picture comes through so clear it's amazing! chicago has many digital broadcasts now and I don't have to move it at all to adjust for different stations or anything. I now have two of these units. I purchased the first at Circuit City at a higher cost. I was very please with the performance of the first one. It brought in all the local HD stations I expected along with some that I was unaware were available. It delivers a very good picture and sound. Others have commented on the great picture that I receive.
When the need arose for another antenna I immediately went to Circuit City, but it was no longer available. Needless to say, I was thrilled to find it on Amazon, and for a smaller purchase price. I am using the second unit on a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV and the reception is stunning. If the need arises, I will purchase another one.

I live about 25 miles from my broadcast towers, but this antenna picks up all of my UHF digital signals. If some of your local stations broadcast on a VHF freqency, then you will be out of luck. It is very directional and will only pick up UHF digital signals. I run it it thru a 30db amplifier and am very pleased with the results.
