Digital camera reviews of Philips SE7452B Enhanced High DefVoice Digital Dual Cordless Phone Answer MachineDigital camera Review: This phone blows Summary: 1 Stars
It's hard to come up with an intelligent review for this thing, so I won't try. Read all the others, concentrate on the one-star reviews. If I could rate this phone less than one star I would.
Digital camera Review: Uncessarily bad - look for a different option Summary: 1 Stars
This phone is just plain bad.
The keys are impossibly hard to press, and there is no reason for that.
Thought it would improve with time, but alas, it does not.
The sound quality is bad. There is usually an interference hiss, even if I am in the room next to the base.
It is designed in such a way that it is difficult to put on the base to charge (it slips out) and then falls of the table.
Finally, the phone is clunky -- the pictures are taken at an angle to make it look like it is thin, but it is big and clunky.
I recommend you look at a different phone, no positives would outweigh the above negatives
Digital camera Review: Unstable phone Summary: 1 Stars
The first time I bought this phone, one of the charging base wasn't working. So, I had to return the phone back. I bought it again since I really liked it. However, now 3 months later, one of the 2 sets stopped working. I am having to send it back again to get a replacement. This is very annoying as I have to send the whole set back and be left with no phone to use. I am now stuck with it and can only get it replaced. God knows how long the third set will last.
Digital camera Review: Very Short Talk Time - don't belive the tech specs Summary: 3 Stars
It's a basic phone with good clarity and range, nothing special for the price. Big disappointment is with the battery life.
The claim is 12 hours per device; and that's not even close.
Per the specs:
# Battery life (standby): Up to 150 hours
# Battery life (talk): Up to 12 hours
In the real world, expect 90 minutes talk time per device before its dead and needs a full recharge and always keep it on the charger where it stays very warm.
Digital camera Review: Weird Wall Mount Summary: 2 Stars
If you are planning on replacing an existing wall-mount phone, forget about this Philips. It does *not* fit a standard wall mount bracket. Yes, you can fiddle around, make it sort of work, but, no matter what you do, you'll end up with a odd-looking replacement. The phone itself looks nice, but not designed for the wall bracket you probably have already in place. The GE DECT-6 fits correctly, though it is only an OK phone.
This phone also, as others have pointed out, quite "chimey" -- every little action triggers a little chime, gets old pretty fast.
When I used with local Verizon service, it also chimes once every 30 minutes -- not on the hour and half hour, but some random start time. Evidently, this is a result of Verizon Home Voice Mail, though does not effect my other phones. I ended up having Verizon disable Voice Mail, at least the phone is quieter now.
I ended up keeping the phone (and extra handset), it is OK in my home office (and extra handset in the basement). Yes, the voice quality is very good.
Someday, I hope, someone will make a good-looking, functional, well-designed wall mount phone.
