Digital camera Review: Panasonic Phones do Everything Better

If you have some marginal 900 mhz phone or an older 2.4 ghz that wasn't made by Panasonic, you might think this is a big improvement over other cordless phones. If you have a Panasonic, don't even think about trying this even if you are excited about DECT technology. The aggravations are as other reviewers have mentioned (annoying flashing light, needless beeping, short battery life, ridiculously complicated buttons for picking up a second incoming call and scrolling through CID, no improvement in range over 5.8 ghz and a frustratingly poor display) and are not offset by any improvement in clarity or lack of interference. After 2 or 3 months of torturing myself and my family, I bought the KX-TG6074 system from Panasonic, which has vastly improved features, including a speaker phone base, a more than rudimentary answering system, and 4 handsets for about the same price. The 5.8 ghz range is at least equal (and seemingly superior to me) and the sound quality of the Panasonic is infinitely better. Also, the soft keys are useful and make sense (one button to access CID or Phone book), and an added talking caller id feature.Digital camera Review: Philips

The phone performs superbly with the exception of a very weak speakerphone. The volume of the Uniden the Philips replaces was easily three times as loud so one could carry on a conversation from within ten feet of the phone. Not so with the Philips. I researched cordless phones for a while before choosing the Philips SE7452B/37 DECT 6.0 Dual Phone Bundle. The sound quality of these phones are very good. The speaker phone feature is awesome. With the speaker enabled it sounds like you are in the same room with the person carrying on a conversation. The phone works very much like a cell phone which makes it easy to learn to use. It allows you to copy the contacts off the sim card from your cell phone which saves a lot of time. The keys are lighted and the screen has a backlight so you can use the phone in a dark room.
The menu allows you to customize the phone much like you would your cell phone.
The Philips SE7452B/37 DECT 6.0 does have a lot of features so plan on taking some time to read the manual.
Things that I don't like about the phones....
1. These charger bases have a display light that blinks a bright red light when the handset is on it. It needs to dim at night.
2: Don't expect to pick up one of the handsets to join in on a conversation already in progress. The individual that answered the call must transfer the call to the other handset(s) using the intercom feature while the incoming call is placed on hold. You can plug another phone into another phone jack and answer a call in progress if this is a problem.

This phone works great! the sound quality is excellent and the one thing I like the most is that you enter a phone number in one handset and can transfer to all the handset instead of doing it manually. I have been using this crapfest since Novemebr of 2007 and it malfunctions daily. Issues with handsets charging, deciding to just shut off when fully charged, sometimes the handsets just wont turn on unless I shake to receiver and the phone often does not ring when call come in. Phillips customer care is great...they will replace the phone if I send it back. Wonderful, but what do I do for a phone in the interim? They refused to work with me and lost a cusotmer for life. This phone is going in the trash and I will take my chances with another brand.
Bye bye Phillips and good luck to those of you who decide to purchase this junk.
