Digital camera Review: BEWARE! CHEAP GARBAGE *COMES APART* FAST.

Sadly, another great idea gets shot to hell via ULTRA CHEAP MATERIALS and POOR CHINESE MANUFACTURING!
After less than a week, THREE of the FIVE I bought are CRACKING, SEPARATING AND/OR ACTUALLY LOSING CHUNKS OF CHEAP, NEAR PAPER THIN PLASTIC FROM THE CARD ADAPTER.
It's been mentioned numerous times in other reviews just HOW CHEAP AND FLIMSY THESE REALLY ARE. YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!
You have NO CONCEPT until you've actually felt them. Hold them up to a light and you can SEE RIGHT THROUGH THE WHITE PLASTIC. WORSE STILL, the *slightest* pressure above the mini SDHC slots will make the top touch the bottom if no card is inserted. THAT FLIMSY!
But WAIT! There's MORE! I use these to convert movies to SONY PSP for a friend with cancer so he'll have something to watch during long waits and chemotherapy.
The procedure is dead simple. Put one micro SDHC card in each slot, make sure they're seated correctly, put the adapter into your PSP slot, connect the USB cable while on AC power and then format the unit via the PSP's system format command. Once the card's formatted properly and the PSP folders are visible on the card, just use it like a standard computer drive and transfer your movies (pre-converted to MPEG 4) to the video directory. TWO 8GB cards in the adapter will give you about 15GBs of usable storage space.
SIMPLE RIGHT? Well, it is UNTIL YOU REMOVE THE ADAPTER AND FIND THAT IT'S CRACKED, SEPARATING OR EVEN HAS AN IRREGULAR CHUNK OF PLASTIC CRACKED OUT OF THE TOP OF IT! Since these adapters have ONLY been USED/INSERTED *ONCE* AND ARE WELL PROTECTED IN THE PSP'S SLOT ITSELF - my only guess is ***HEAT*** GENERATED ON THE CHEAP, THIN HOUSING.
To check this theory, I tried TWO MORE NEW ADAPTERS WITH ANOTHER PSP 1000 AND A PSP SLIM. *AGAIN*, AFTER ONLY A FEW DAYS OF MILD USE, BOTH ADAPTERS CAME OUT SEPARATING AND BRITTLE. RE: WORTHLESS!!!
It is UNBELIEVABLE WHAT CHEAP PIECES OF GARBAGE THESE ARE! DOUBLY SAD and INFURIATING when you look at them against the light and realize that these adapters COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN REENFORCED INTERNALLY DURING THEIR MANUFACTURING!
If you WANT/NEED DUAL ADAPTER CARDS, I'LL SHARE WHAT I'VE ULTIMATELY FOUND: STEER TOTALLY CLEAR OF ANY AND ALL *WHITE* CARDS. The "CR-5400s" are among the VERY WORST OFFENDERS! Other KNOCKOFFS are almost AS BAD. RE: *NO* CR5400 MARKING and labeled "DUAL SLOT *READER*" as compared to the CR-5400 "DUAL SLOT "ADAPTER."
Finally, THE BEST, STURDIEST AND MOST DEPENDABLE ADAPTERS ARE THE BLACK ---SDA 1800 ADAPTERS--- WITH TAN WRITING CARDS LABELED MICRO SD (IN TAN) WITH THE BLACK INVERTED LETTERS "HC" IN A TAN RECTANGLE - A SMALL TRIANGLE BELOW FOLLOWED BY A LARGE "MS" OVER A SMALL "PRO DUO" AND "SMART DUAL READER" ABOVE SDA 1800.
Sorry for the long physical description, but searching for the "SDA 1800" designation sometimes will find them and sometimes it won't.
JUST REMEMBER: IN DUAL ADAPTERS LIKE THIS - BLACK ***IS*** BEAUTIFUL!!!
