Digital camera reviews of Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD 2-Din DVD Multimedia AV ReceiverDigital camera Review: great for the money Summary: 4 Starsprobably the best $300 I've spent in a long time. The graphics could use an update, but the Ipod functions work perfect and DVD playback has a good picture and easy menus. Get the wiring harness and face plate adapters from Crutchfield and you're set. Several display color options, so it looks perfectly stock in my 4runner.
Digital camera Review: AVH-P4000DVD Summary: 4 StarsBest bang for the buck, IMO. Four stars because it will not charge ipod Nanos. Tried a new one and another that is several years old. If you decidie to try this, be certain you have ipod charging set to on (even though it won't charge). If not you will have to disconnect/reconnect the ipod each time you stop your engine.
Digital camera Review: pioneer in-dash dvd Summary: 4 Starsgood product for the price, like the fact that change color so I can match the lights of my Honda civic
Digital camera Review: Entry level DVD but very nice for the price!!! Summary: 4 StarsI was comparing this to a similarly equipped Kenwood. I went with the Pioneer based mostly on the price and the positive reviews. I have to say that for the price it's a very good unit. It plays DVD's very nice and is viewable even in bright light. I loaded up a USB stick with MP3's and I'm impressed on how fast it loads them up. An MP3 will start playing almost immediately when you turn the unit on. Way faster then reading a CD or DVD. I also ordered the HD tuner and a back up camera but I haven't hooked them up yet. One other option I'm considering it the iPod controller even though I don't have an iPod yet. With Circuit City going out of business they have these connectors for about $15. The point is that you can hook a lot of extras on to this unit.
The sound is also very good. I've had Pioneers in the past and they always sound louder then their rated wattage. There are a lot of tweaks you can do to the EQ and Loudness to get it where you like.
There are a few features I wish this unit had that the Kenwood does have. The display is a little boring when playing the radio. For such a large screen I wish it could have had a least an EQ display or some other visual going on. Just seeing a radio station id on a 6.1 in screen is a little blah. You can display the preset buttons that take up the screen but that's still pretty boring. You can't upload your own backgrounds either and are limited to 3 presets. They range from a grid design to a slightly smaller grid to dots. Yeah, exciting. You can have a video play on the background if you have a separate video source. I've not got that to work yet. Also, I don't believe that cover art is displayed on this unit when using the iPod. Those little visual touches would have been nice. But again, for the price and all the features it does have, this is a great unit.
Digital camera Review: yesrcapn Summary: 3 StarsI like this deck, but it lacks in a few areas. For the cost of this deck, a Tom Tom (or other GPS), the cost of the sirius radio adapter and the bluetoothe adapter your in quite a bit. For less than you would pay for all that you can buy the Pioneer 90BT.
I have to say I am satisfied with the deck itself, it does everything it says. However the bluetoothe adapter does not stand up to the Pioneer name that I expected. Sometimes it will conect my phone, sometimes it won't it's disapointing to say the least. Def. not worth the $130.00 I paid for it.
On another note Pioneer has a new line of decks out that are great! You can save pictures as a back drop where you can't with this 4000 unit, but then again i think i am going to keep what i have and when i get a new vehicle i plan on upgrading to one of the new units or to the 90BT that I just purchased for my girlfriends car.
