Digital camera reviews of Pioneer DV-393-S Progressive Scan DVD Player with Div-X

Digital camera Review: It does the job, and then some..
Summary: 4 Stars

I wanted a replacement DVD player that could handle Divx disks along with VCD's, audio CD's and so forth. This one does. It's remote is not that great, but the playback is excellent. I like the auto shutdown feature too. If you leave it on pause for a bit, it shuts down and lets you resume playback right where you left off. I never had that feature, and I find it useful. It has a very slim profile, like most of them do today. I just wish it came in black, to match my other components. I am most pleased with this product and I recommend it to anyone who needs multiple format playback.

Digital camera Review: Good basic DVD player; small profile
Summary: 3 Stars

In reading online reviews I was under the impression that this DVD player would do upsampling of DVDs to 720p (effective). Unfortunately, it's the next model up from this one. Nonetheless, this player is nicely made, the price is right, and you really can't go wrong if you want a good basic DVD player.

Digital camera Review: beware

do not buy this dvd player if you are looking for multi region . It works only for us-canada dvd

Digital camera Review: beware region 1 only!
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a good player but it is NOT multi-region capable as some reviews suggest. I ended up finally with a Toshiba from VCT electronics that is multi-region.

Digital camera Review: Pioneer Not What Is Needed
Summary: 1 Stars

This DVD player was purchased on the basis of the description and links that described it as a region free, PAL/NTSC, 110/240 volt campatible system. It did not meet any of these criteria. It requires code entry to attempt to play DVDs that are not A category; only puts out NTSC signals; and requires 110V and is not dual voltage capable. Unit was returned and I am still waiting refund.
