Digital camera reviews of Pioneer FH-P8000BT Double-Din In-Dash CD/MP3/WMA/AAC Receiver with Built-In Bluetooth, iPod Control, and Rear USB Input

Digital camera Review: Great Features for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

This unit does a good job in all its features. Bluetooth connection is clear. A couple of minor complaints: using Ipod or CD imputs there is no 1-touch pause control, you have to hit the Master Controller 3 times to pause. Also, the front panel is extremely shiny & as the afternoon sun goes down when heading East and shines through the rear window it reflects off the panel and can dazzle you !!!
Other than that, I'm very pleased with this unit.

Digital camera Review: Great HU
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my 02 Nissan Maxima. It fits and sounds great. I have the Bose system, so I was interested in this for the high voltage pre-amp outputs and it sounds awesome. Features work well. For the money, you can not ask for anything better. Except maybe a controllable dimmmer.

Digital camera Review: Great Pioneer DoubleDin !!!

Pioneer Premier FH-P800BT - Radio / CD / MP3 player / USB flash player - Double-DIN - in-dash - 50 Watts x 4

This radio is great. I am reviewing the FH-P800BT. It fit absolutely perfect in my 2007 Chevy Silverado. I was able to pair up my iphone and download all the contacts instantly with no problem. This radio can memorize up to 3600 different numbers: 400 persons x 3 contacts x 3 phones. Even though I kept the factory speakers, this unit has made a world of difference. Much louder, cleaner, distinct sound comes from the same speakers...The remote has a nice feel and a cool little control knob as well. 22rms is good power, and (3) 4volt preamp outputs makes it great for future expansion which I plan to do.
I have also done as others have...I purchased a usb powered 2.5" external 250gb harddrive and connected it to the unit with no issue!! Talk about music storage! This unit is an absolute must have for anyone looking for a double din size radio. For all the features and quality, no other radio comes close.

Digital camera Review: Great Receiver to use with ipod
Summary: 4 Stars

my idea was to not have any more audio CDs in my vehicle, i would have all my audio stored in a USB hard drive or ipod, which i would keep in my glove box. This receiver was the perfect solution for this idea. My only concerns were the following:

1) with my itouch 2g, if firmware is higher than 3.0 the unit will have a hard time recognizing the itouch when you turn the car off and then back on. This got on my nerves so i had to downgrade my unit to 3.0 which erased everything off the itouch.

2) on the dial button, you always have to move it to the right more than any other direction, thus it gets more worn down pushing it to the right. Maybe i should use the remote control more?

3)when you move through the directories on the ipod with the car's receiver, it keeps track where you left off when you try to move again to another directory. But if you turn the car off and then try to navigate to another directory, you have to start from the root directory.

4) on a usb thumb stick some times the unit locks up when it reads the mp3s, so you have to restart. Not sure why this happened, maybe it was one of my audio files.

I've had my unit for close to an year now, and i'm very happy with it i would recommend it to anyone

Update: May 2010 - This unit does not work with the iPad, just in case anyone out there was wondering.

Digital camera Review: Great Unit
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this unit for about two months now. This was a huge improvement from my car's original unit. The user interface is not as difficult to learn as some of the reviews say although it could be better. Took me 10 minutes to set it up and one or two days to get used to it. Bluetooth works great. The only problem i have with it is that dimmer doesn't work so i have to turn the lights off at night because the display is too bright. Overall it's the best unit you can buy for the money.
If i had to buy another unit, i would buy the same one again.
