Digital camera Review: "The" AVR to Buy

I just received and setup this Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K AVR and it is by far the best sounding system that I have ever owned, and I have owned a few. I have owned a Harmon Kardon (Very poor reliability) and a Denon (Overpriced) and this system beats them in all categories. The sound quality is by far superior to either of these manufacturers (Unless you want to pay +$7,000 for a Denon System), it's appearance is awesome and it is very reasonably priced for the features, sound and video quality that it produces. Keep in mind that I am ignoring the remote control and the user manual because the Harmon Kardon and Denon systems are equally as poor in these categories. The Harmon Kardon operated considerably hotter than this Pioneer unit, so complaints regarding temperature for this unit are relative to whatever system and power output rating that that particular system has. The operating temperature for this unit is no better or worse than what a system should be operating at for the power output rating of this system. I am an Electrical Engineer so I do know what I am talking about. This unit was designed to be an exterior mounted unit, meaning that it is not designed to be rack mounted or installed in an enclosure, unless that enclosure has active cooling (ie. Fans, Peltier device, etc.) built into the enclosure. But again, this is not an issue as most AVR's do not have fans and if they do, they generate noise from the fan motor, which then forces you to implement sound dampening measures. The killer of electronics is "Heat" & "Humidity", so keep the unit exterior mounted in a well ventilated dry area and do not top stack anything on it or place it on top of any other electrical or heat generating equipment. EOS also can damage sensitive electronics so make sure that you have a good quality surge suppressor to plug this unit into as well. High Quality, Low Cost, Long Life means Great Value. This unit is the best AVR for the majority of us. You will not be disappointed.
