Digital camera reviews of Plantronics MX500i 3-in-1 Headset

Digital camera Review: GREAT headset
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this headset for an online class I teach twice a week. It works really well, I always had complaints from my students about the audio (tried using my computer mic and multiple bluetooth headsets)until I bought this headset. The only con is that it is not very comfortable, I only teach for 2 hours at a time and it doesn't really bother me, but as soon as I'm done I need to yank it off as it really irritates my ear. I wish it had been designed with an over the ear thing instead of it hanging from my ear!
Platform-wise- I use this headset with a Macintosh and have had no issues, I just plug it in and it works perfectly. Definitely worth it for the price!

Digital camera Review: Good Sound
Summary: 5 Stars

I work from home nearly full time and spend hours a day on the phone. I've been through a couple other headsets and have found this one to be the best, by far. It is comfortable to wear, while being easy to attach and remove from the ear. And, perhaps most importantly, the sound quality is terrific. Both microphone and speaker produce high quality results and I end up wearing this thing as an extension of my ear!

I'm using this with a Panasonic 5.8ghz cordless phone...works great. High quality results for a small cost.

Digital camera Review: Good comfortable headset
Summary: 4 Stars

This is the second MX500 that I have purchased. The first is 3 years old, I use it daily and the rubber covering on the part that goes into your ear has rotted. This has not effected sound quality or comfort, just something to note, also the cord has begun to fray at the 2.5mm plug, but that is because I often drop the phone and it yanks the cable at that point although this has not effected sound quality. I purchased a second MX500 as it was the cheapest way of getting the 2.5mm to USB audio converter that I needed so that I could plug the headset into my Mac.

Over the three years that I have used this product no one has ever complained about voice quality, so I guess it must be good, and I am always able to hear the person that I am talking to.

Digital camera Review: Good headset for Skype
Summary: 3 Stars

I originally didn't think it worth while to purchase a headset for my skype calls as I just used my Laptops speakers & mic but since the quality was less clear to the recipients due to background noise I ended up buying this one.

It's an overall good product, the build and sound quality is good, it fits comfortably and is easy to install.

Had I known there was a blue tooth version available before buying I would have opted for it as the wire is a bit frustrating and I sometimes forget I have it on which results in whiplash every time I get up.(easy to forget as its that comfortable).

The only minor gripe I have is that you cant easily switch between normal speakers and the headset, it does allow for skype to ring on your normal speakers, but you have to unplug it otherwise. Also if you use sites like [...] to listen to music you have to close and reopen the browser for it to recognize that the headset was removed.

This is not a major issue and I would still recommend it should you not opt for a wireless version.

Digital camera Review: Good little headset
Summary: 4 Stars

I have only been using the headset on and off for about a week. So far it is very comfortable and I like the under the ear design. Most of the time I forget that it's sitting there. The sound quality is very good and I haven't had anyone on the other end of the phone complain about the quality either. There is also an inline volume adjustment and mute button. This is useful so I can lower the volume of the headset only without having to lower the overall volume on the phone.

I haven't tried the USB attachment for use with computer-based calls but I like that I have it in case I want to use it in the future.
