Digital camera reviews of Plantronics UPCALISTO Bluetooth Headset

Digital camera Review: Finally decided not to buy it
Summary: 1 Stars

Reading here the opinions and having the unit for 2 weeks ( a friend of mine has one ) I decided not to buy it.
I think I will wait until some company takes this as a challenge.
Thanks

Digital camera Review: Finally, a handsfree headset that works
Summary: 5 Stars

For years I have tried various headsets to use with my home telephone service that leaves my hands free. The wired headsets are inexpensive but those I tried always crackled when I moved due to loose connections at the headset jack. The previous bluetooth units I tried (including Plantronics) either exhibited poor audio or they were a hassle to use. I had to go through multiple steps to engage the bluetooth connection each time I made or received a call. The Calistro Pro solves all of these problems. Installation was a snap. The bluetooth headset automatically engages by just touching the button on the headset for one second and there is an icon on the handset screen indicating connection. In addition, the handset can function as a wireless speakerphone. Calls are clear and crisp. I have a feeling that unlike all of the previous units I have purchased, this one will be around for a long time. Now, if I could only sell all of the poorly functioning predecessors for half of what I paid, I could probably retire early.

Digital camera Review: God product - Pity about the support, forget about it if you have a Mac
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this product a year ago based on its recently released Mac software and good hardware reviews. At that time Snow Leopard was announced. Plantronics has not upgraded the software once since it was released (and it was poor in the first place) and now it doesn't support Mac's latest OS. Customer support doesn't answer questions and apart from an initial "we are working on it" they are now saying they wont support 10.6. I understand this policy for "out of production" products or perhaps for older products and major OS changes BUT in this case it was predictable and I can not but help feel they knowingly duped their customers.

I like the hardware but as long as this is how Plantronics treats its customers I am not buying another of their products.

Digital camera Review: Good Phone -- Poor Quality Construction
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought two of these phone over the past year and half. Within that period two headsets have gone bad, the battery for the handset has gone bad, and the keypad for the handset has gone bad. I love the ease of using the phone, but the quality of the construction is just frustrating.

Digital camera Review: Good but not perfect
Summary: 4 Stars

Good: integrates with VoIP, Landline and Mobile as stated. Has both wireless handset and headset that work seamlessly together. Good speakerphone, too.

Not So Good: seems to lose connections to VoIP after hibernation, to Mobile under unknown circumstances. Can't choose which line you want to dial out on from the handset (uses landline).

Note that to get the range on the headset, you need to carry the handset with you (not so bad).

Sound quality is quite good, comfort is OK.

For the price, I'm not quite thrilled, but it does what it says and is working for me fine. I would have been much happier at half the price!
