Digital camera reviews of Plustek OpticFilm 7200 7200DPI Film ScannerDigital camera Review: Very good film scanner Summary: 4 StarsI was hesitant to purchase this product but after reading the reviews I took the plunge, and today I'm glad I did. So far I have scanned over 200 slides and the images at 3600 DPI are truly stunning.
The included Silverfast software is not great but it does the job where slides and black and white negatives are concerned. I do not like its output on color negatives but they can be post processed in Photoshop.
All in all I think this is a great scanner at a great price point.
Digital camera Review: Good scanner but ... Summary: 4 StarsI had this scanner for about six months before it started to malfunction in that every scanned image had a streak across it. I sent it back to Amazon who were very nice and gave me nearly a full refund. The software that comes with the scanner is great. I was a bit dissapointed that every speck of dust on my 30 year old slides showed up but ... they were 30 year old images and the software does have a handy dust removal feature.
Overall, its a good scanner but I recommend buying the service protection plan.
Digital camera Review: A great find Summary: 5 StarsThe purchasing of the 7200DPI film scanner was the perfect fit my hundreds of 35mm mounted slides. The learning curve is very user friendly and the recorded pictures are a clone of the originals. This film scanner sure beats the other two slide converters that I have. One a flat bed scanner and the other a Panasonic studio camera with a slide adaptor on the lens.
The 7200DPI presents an excellent color copy and the pictures are very sharp.
Many thanks for a great piece of equipment.

Digital camera Review: Slide scanner Summary: 5 StarsI am very pleased with this product. It has done what was promised. When I tried to load the programs to my computer it would not read the disk. I went to the company web site and to support. This was on a Friday Evening. I received an email almost immediatly that said I would receive a call before the end of the next business day. I thought that meant I would not hear anything untill Monday. Well about an hour and a half later tech support called and walked me through downloading what I needed from the internet and stayed on the phone with me untill I had scanned a couple of slides to make sure that everything worked. I was very impressed with the service and the quality of the scanner.
Digital camera Review: Returned it same day...Don't waste your $$$ Summary: 1 StarsI read all the reviews on Amazon before I ordered this, and I am returning it tomorrow. I guess I must be picky about the quality of my scans because the other Amazon buyers gave it great reviews. personally, I thought the scans were awful..both slides and C-41 color negatives too. The scan times are insane and I have a fairly powerful PC with a 3.2GHz Duo Core processor as well as 3Gb DDR Ram and a 512MB Video card. The setup and software installation was very quick & easy as other reviewers stated but the resulting scans were abhorrent. Sadly, my Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 software couldn't really fix a couple (garbage in, garbage out). Bottom Line: do NOT buy this film scanner !
