Digital camera reviews of Portable Sound Lab Handheld Speaker Case for iPod (Black)Digital camera Review: Best ever Summary: 5 StarsI love this....cant keep earphones in they bother me...this is perfect, the sound is amazing.
Digital camera Review: Impressed - better than expected! Summary: 5 StarsI was pleasantly surprised with these speakers, for the price I wasn't sure what to expect. The sound quality is good and the volume can go up pretty loud. I took it on vacation with me and listened to it for a couple hours each day on a 10 day vacation and only had to charge my ipod nano once (it wasn't even low, but I thought I should charge it anyway) and the batteries are still working great. The only thing I would change if I could is the ease of using the click wheel through the plastic cover - I have one of the new ipod nanos and the click wheel is super easy to use, but in the case it is harder to use it to scroll. I tried an older ipod photo and did not have the same problem, since the wheel is larger I guess. Overall I am extremely happy with the little speakers, especially for the price! It will be great to use in the garage, outdoors, etc. etc. I fully recommend this item!
Digital camera Review: Brilliant sound Summary: 5 StarsImpressive sound. Owned other portable speakers before and none of them can hardly match it.
Digital camera Review: Great- but not for the iPod touch Summary: 4 StarsFirst, I must agree with those who are impressed with the sound of these speakers as it is indeed wonderful. And while bulky, the unit really isn't all that heavy- less than ideal for jogging but that's what those arm band covers are for. My biggest criticism is that the unit is poorly suited for use with the iPod touch (I have the 2nd generation, but the problem is for any iPod touch). The area for the iPod is too small to properly fit the touch- you can wedge it in but you are then unable to access the touch screen. After a few minutes with a rotary cutting tool, I was able to make room for the touch to fit as it should. However, there was another issue- I could not access the "home" buttton at the bottom of the unit. After yet another drill bit was employed, I was able to use my iPod touch without a problem. My four star rating is based on the truly fantastic sound you get for a most reasonable price. Nevertheless, I cannot recommend this unit for somone with an iPod touch unless you have more than just a bit of MacGyver in you. For those with any other model of iPod, this is a great (though admittedly aesthetically challenged) speaker unit with decent portability and excellent sound.
Digital camera Review: So far so good Summary: 4 StarsI did a lot of research and ended up with this product for several reasons:
1. Self contained
2. Portable
3. Best bang for the buck for speakers this size
If you share similar criteria then you will be happy with these speakers. The sound is pretty good for the size and price and the case will provide excellent protection for your iPod. If you want something that can be portable, but most of the time your speakers will remain stationary, then you might want to keep looking.
The one negative that I have so far is one of design. Turning off the power on your iPod does not turn off the power for the speakers. So when you're done using the iPod, you have to unzip the case and power off the speakers manually. If you don't, the batteries will completely drain. Would have been nice if they incorporated a power save/time out feature.
