I purchased two of these items from Micro-Tools on Amazon. One of the retail packs had been opened and re-taped with 4 inches of scotch tape. Is Micro-Tools selling open-box Powerex batteries as new? These should not be listed as "new".Digital camera Review: Buy better batteries

I have recently experienced failures in several of my Powerex batteries while my Eneloops are still going strong. I no longer buy Powerex and only use Eneloops and recently purchased Energizer rechargeable. The powerex batteries that failer were only about 2 years old and were charged and discharged about 10 times.Digital camera Review: Excellent batteries

These batteries last longer on a charge, with the best recycle time than any other batteries chargeable or not, that I've ever used. Highly recommended. For best charge, be sure to use the Maha charger. It makes all the difference. The other chargers just didn't do a great job.Digital camera Review: Excellent product
