It would be nice if they would have sent me the battery I ordered for my iRobot 580 instead of one for a 400 series.
Digital camera Review: Dead on Arrival Summary: 1 Stars
When the PWR+ Battery arrived, it appeared upon first inspection, to be in decent shape. I followed the manufacturers instructions in installing it in my Roomba 535, and proceeded to let it charge for 3 days (as recommended.) On day 3, the main power ring of the Roomba was flashing red, and a separate LED next to it was also flashing red. I looked up the codes online and found that it was a battery problem. I quickly took the battery out, and flipped it over to look at the terminals. There appeared to be the beginnings of corrosion on the exposed metal. I feared the worst...
This was alarming to me (I work at a battery manufacturer myself) as it is usually indicative of an oooooold battery. I got my multimeter out to measure the terminal voltage. After having charged for 3 days, the battery read a whomping 2.57 volts. Keep in mind, its nominal voltage is 14.4V. The old 'dead' battery I had still measured around 15V, and it had just been sitting idle on the charger for months. (And yes, I know a batteries capacity isn't measured in volts.)
This battery was dead on arrival. Like I said, it had probably been sitting around for a long time before I bought it. Never good as far as batteries are concerned.
Digital camera Review: Defective Battery? Summary: 2 Stars
I promptly received the battery I ordered in October. It was installed in a Roomba 560 that is roughly three years old. Upon installation, the Roomba showed fully charged and ran great for one cycle. After docking with the charger, the amber 'charging' light began pulsing, but after 3-5 seconds the red power light began flashing, along with an (i) icon that I could not decipher. There were no other error messages. I worked with Roomba customer service to trouble-shoot the unit, reset it a number of times, reseat the battery, clean terminals, and so on. Eventually they concluded that the battery needed to be replaced. I ordered a genuine Roomba battery and it charges without any problems.
On 12/15 I was contacted by customer service at PWR+ in followup. They appear to have concluded that I had repurchased the battery and was satisfied. I am satisfied...with the Roomba battery. I do give credit for their follow-up and hereby increase my stars to "2".
Digital camera Review: Didn't work for my Roomba Summary: 3 Stars
This battery arrived quickly, but unfortunately it did not work for my 570 Roomba. It did not hold a charge, despite multiple attempts to reinstall it and charge it. I returned it and received a quick refund. The company was prompt and helpful, and I would order from them again.
Digital camera Review: Didn't work in my Roomba 550 Summary: 3 Stars
It arrived partially charged and worked fine. However, after cleaning, Roomba docked and the power light with to flashing red. It didn't charge and at that point was pretty much useless. I returned it and bought the more expensive battery from irobot and that works well.
PWR support contacted me based on this review. They were pleasant to work with and sent me a new battery. So, while my initial battery had problems (for which I gave it 1 star), support was excellent (5 star) and I averaged that to the 3 star review here.
