The QSC48030 has been a fine camera, day and night recording, for about 18 months.
It has now begun to have very cloudy images at night to the extent that it is impossible to see any detail. Q-see tech said to check the power supply...it was fine. Then they said to call customer service and exchange for another one.
I called customer service and they informed me that since it was out of warranty there is nothing that can be done. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO THROW IT AWAY AND BUY A NEW ONE...THAT THERE IS NO SERVICE ON THIS UNIT!
I thought it very important to enlighten potential buyers of this issue as I believe that these are too expensive to be classified as disposable cameras.

I LOVE THIS CAMERA.I BOUGHT CAMERAS AT RADIO SHACK AND HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS AND TOOK THEM BACK .GOT SEVERAL DIFFERENT ONES,NONE WOULD NOT SHOW UP AT NIGHT AND IT SUPPOSE TO BE NIGHT VISION.THEY WOULD NOT SHOW UP AT NIGHT,BUT THIS ONE DID.I LOVE IT AND RECOMMEND IT.ONE OF THE OTHER CAMERAS I BOUGHT ALONG TIME AGO WOULD NOT SHOW UP AT NIGHT,WHEN I HOOK THIS ONE UP,IT MADE THE OTHER ONE SHOW AT NIGHT ALSO.BEAUTIFUL COLOR IN DAY TIME.I'M GLAD I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA.Q-SEEQSC48030.HAD IT FOR ONE WEEK NOW.Digital camera Review: Camera

When hooked directly to a good TV the picture is really very good including the night vision. When attched to the DVR it loses some of this clarity. Overall for the money it works as advertised. Seems to be built very well. All aluminum construction.Digital camera Review: Disappointed.

This was to be an upgrade from the cameras that came with our Q-See security system. Frankly, I expected better after reading the reviews here. I thought the clarity was pretty poor with and without the night vision.
I returned the Q-See system and these cameras and went with another brand.
