I had WEBTV & WEBTV PLUS for 10 years and despite some limitations I for the most part liked it. Can't say that for MSN TV 2. Read the reviews cautioning purchase but did not believe them or didn't want to believe them. What a mistake! Believe me if you had WEBTV you will not like MSN TV. Do yourself a favor and keep you your WEBTV!!!Digital camera Review: Don't beleive the negative reviews!!!!

Buy the unit for yourself or your mother or your father or any elderly, person in your family who is not a computer wiz, set it up,
register, log in and see if you can get 1 week of consistent service from the world's richest wiz kid.
See if you have trouble or not logging on, see wether or not you need to upgrade 6 to 7 times in a 10 day period, see if you can play this thing for at least 3 days without it shutting off for no reason, and when you call customer service see if you get the run around, see if you can listen to the same audio files you enjoyed in real audio or not, no review;
just see for
wether or not this service apart from speed is better or worse then the old basic unit, and is worth the extra 100 bucks,
and then ask yourself if there is a 50/50 chance of bringing grief and added aggravation to those you love, who are in thier golden years, is it worth buying this unit.

The MSNtv2 receiver is great for those of us who are not computer savy. I had webtv plus for years and used it every day. It had gotten very slow, and I couldn't sign into Ebay anymore. That was the turning point that something had to be done.With the MSNtv2 receiver, I am ebaying again and at a much faster pace.The receiver will turn itself off sometimes, and sometimes I have a hard time hooking up; especially, it seems if the planes are flying at the air force base beside us.Sending pictures is different than with webtv plus. It was so easy with webtv plus.All in all though, I am very pleased. I can do more with the MSNtv2 receiver, and I definitely recommend it. Also, I got such a good deal through Amazon.com.

I purchased my unit on the Msn web site back in mid October.Started out for 3 months on dail up and it was a big improvement over the old Classic.Got broadband in January and hadn't looked back since.Hooking up BB with cable was easy and had no problems.Sure the keyboard was replaced because of skipping,but was handled in a professional manner.You have to realize this is no computer in regards you can't burn a CD.I have experienced no major problems with my unit.I know everyone has not been happy with the unit but I would recommend it to any one who wants to get a cost effective way to access the internet.Page Builder? There are more professional ways to build a web page by using the search engines.ALT/DIS?There are plenty of forums to join and learn from.One thing I wouldn't recommend is buying an used one or an open box in stores,because some people try to use the old codes from the old webtv.Buy a new one and get the extended warranty so
if anything does go wrong it is covered.People grumbled about the old webtv short comings so give TNB a chance to mature.Mike-OK It's been out four years and it's now outdated.Do yourself a favor and purchase an entry level computer and get a good spyware and anti virus.Since rest of the internet has gone to using flash this product is not much better than the old webtv.Unless you just want an e mail machine an entry level computer will be your best bet!
