Digital camera Review: Flimsy and unreliable.

Considering the price, this product will serve you well in a pinch, but it does not provide a reliable connection. The iPod/iPhone connector appears to be slightly undersized. Each time I connect my iPhone, I have to jiggle the connector a little to get my iPhone to recognize that it's there and it does not always stay connected, unless you stay completely still. You will not these problems with original Apple connectors.
When it is connected, it seems to work well, but I do feel like I need to keep checking it.
The fact that it is retractable is a cool feature. However, I would rather carry around a full-length cable than one that doesn't stay connected.

I was skeptical about this cable because I had bought one from eForcity a few weeks ago that was advertised similarly. That cable was also about $3 for the cable+shipping, but when I went to plug it in, my computer didn't react at all. That one did charge, but very slowly.
This one works perfectly for my iPod 5G and Vista, and the retractable feature is a real plus. Great buy, glad I didn't resort to buying the $20 official Apple one.

I've been using one of these cables in my car for about a year now. It works well, except that the strain relief at the iPod connector end is lacking. Lately, the cable jacket has worn through at the iPod connector, and there's now exposed wire. The cable still works for now, but will probably fail after a couple more bending cycles. Item may not be built to millitary standards, but if you don't mistreat it, it will last and work just as well as any Ipod cable. Mine has been working great for some time now.
