Digital camera Review: 720p?
Summary: 4 Stars
Great product. Worked well right out of the box. The only reason for 4 stars is some older TVs (like mine) do not support 720p and they do not put enough emphasis on the limited compatibility with "older TVs" in the specs. Had to return it. I felt a bit like I did not do enough homework, and it is true that they do not hide the fact that it is 720p... However, when you switch to HD in the setup it CLEARLY says it is 720p and "may not be compatible with older HDTVs" (I have a Mitsubishi HD1080 series that takes only 480i/p or 1080i). Again, great product. I just think they ought to be as forthcoming in the specs before you buy as they are when you have the box plugged in and are ready to switch to HD (put the same disclaimer in the specs). If you want one, they work well, just check that your gear will work with it. Or buy a new TV... Hmmm...Digital camera Review: A Total Blast. Why did we wait so long?!

I was lucky enough to score this Roku at a very good price yesterday on the Deal of the Day here on Amazon.
I ordered yesterday and being a Prime member spent the extra $3.99 so we'd have it for the weekend. I ordered it around 2 something in the afternoon yesterday, and we had it by 3 today. Pretty amazing. Thanks Amazon!
The Roku couldn't have been easier to set up. We have a Belkin G Plus Mimo router two stories down in the basement which puts us probably 25 or so feet away but still getting 4 stars with Comcast 15m high speed internet. It is not lightening speed to load as it might be with a stronger more expensive Cable package, but pretty darn quick so no complaints in that department!
Had it up and running in a matter of minutes via my Macbook Pro with no problems.
Tonight we watched our first Netflix movie. Love Netflix! With an HDMI cable, ( which does not come with the Roku package) the picture is outstanding on our Samsung 42 inch HD screen. The sound seems to be even better than what we are getting from our tv while watching movies over Comcast, if that's possible.
My only regret is that we did not get one of these sooner. It sure beats channel surfing trying to find something worth watching, and It wouldn't bother me one bit if I never saw another commercial as long as I live!
Digital camera Review: A great enhancement for Netflix

The Roku product is easily installed and even the non-tech should have it up and running within 15-20 minutes. It is a great add-on to those folks who have a Netflix subscription; you can view movies instantly using your wireless network. Amazon had a great price on the unit and it shipped very quickly. Also, Amazon gave me a $30 coupon to use towards movie rentals from Amazon Movie channel. Another plus is there are additional channels on the Roku including MLB and Pandora music channel, which is very cool.
Mikey likes it; so will you.
Digital camera Review: A great new toy

I am really enjoying my new Roku XR. The setup was extremely easy and intuitive. I am running the ROKU XR wirelessly off of an N-Router (Trendnet 633) located on the other side of the house. I am getting "4 dots and HD" (best quality) with no interuptions in play.
My only complaint is that I have to go to Netflix and enter movies I want to watch on the Netflix Instant Queue before the Roku XR will play the movie. So basically, I have to go to my computer, find my TV shows or movies, enter them into the Instant Queue on the computer then goto the ROKU and my selections will be available to watch. I really wish I could scan for movies and shows thru the ROKU.
Other than that, the setup and playback quality is excellent using HDMI. Recommended :)
UPDATE 6/10/10 : ROKU and Netflix have fixed the annoying need to select your movies on your computer and then go to the ROKU to see your queue. Now you can search for movies on Netflix from inside the ROKU. BRAVO!!!

This product has to be one of my very most favorite purchases I have made in the last 2 years. I am a subscriber of Nextflix for only $8.00 a month I can add 1,000's of movies to my instant watch que and watch them right on my HD tv at home anytime I want, thanks to ROKU. There are so many features this box has other than netflix. I enjoy listening to Pandora radio as well as listening to podcasts, not to mention amazon video on demand.
As for the device it's self.... It's great! I have had little to no problems at all, the setup is easy and takes about 10 minutes to set it up and link it to your netflix account (computer will be required for linking)
I love this thing, and in 2 years I have not had any issues, my ROKU is still going strong.
