Digital camera Review: Do not purchase this if you want warranty service!

The item in questions wireless lost signal strength after only 8 months of use. I called roku for warranty service and after dealing with there customer service which is in India or Pakistan, they inform me that I cannot get warranty service from them since i purchased it from amazon.com and that I need to contact them. Which is what I am doing right now and so far I have been told that I cannot return it to them as too much time has past since purchase. So if you buy this hope it last without needing warranty serviceDigital camera Review: Does exactly what it says!

Had it up and working on my WPA protected network in about 5 minutes, took about another 2 to activate it on my netflix account and add additional channels. I have it connected to a 27" standard-def TV with composite cables, but it has numerous other connection options for newer tv's as well. Streaming netflix, TWiT, and Revision 3 content looks great. I have absolutely no complaints!Digital camera Review: Does what it says it will do.

When I purchased Roku HD-XR I was very excited to tie it to my Netflix account for streaming options on the TV.
Out of the box set up is quick and easy. We were watching Netflix streaming movies that night. I recommend the HDMI cable for convenience and HD quality. Simple remote operates the channel setting for Roku box. You can select channels like facebook, Hulu, Amazon Movie downloads and numerous online radio stations from around the world.
Of course, you need, an internet connection to make the connect with Roku. I had only a wireless connection and this worked fine with a G and N router available through my apartment complex ISP contract. Bought it in June and never had any major issues with the Roku player.
However in early November my apartment complex changed wireless ISP providers and somehow peripheral devices could not sign on easily. No provisions were made for this in the contract our management signed.
Though Roku customer and technical service was very good, they informed me this device would not communicate with the latest radio frequency wireless system installed in our apartment complex. I've since removed the device and boxed it in hopes we can get this issue resolved. Even with this experience, I strongly recommend a Roku player for its simplicity and ease of connection to the TV or ethernet or wireless service. (Be careful on the wireless connection, though)
I give it 3 stars in functionality since I cannot connect to the new wireless system in my apartment.

I ordered the newer version of this the XDS last night 9/22/10. They immediately sent me a confirmation for the older HD-XR version. I called them in India and emailed them and told them it was wrong and emailed them several times. (Waiting over 24 hours on the email replies still.) Today they still decided to ship me the older HD-XR version. I stopped payment on my credit card tonight (9/23).
