Digital camera Review: Good collection of SMALL gels, but...

I'm on the fence with this one. First, you get a lot of gels. They come stacked in a single plastic box and each have this nifty paper backing divider showing that particular gel's function. Sort out the 10 or so you would need and pack them separately otherwise you're gonna be shuffling all night in the dark to find what you need.
This order came with the Lumiquest flash attachment that wraps over your flash head. In my opinion this thing is useless. It attaches to your flash head via the provided adhesive velcro strips. You pull the wax paper then adhere a strip on the top and underside of your flash. When you need the filter rig, just place it against the velcro strips on your flash and go. If you're using other Lumiquest gear I guess this is the process. I don't, so...
Anyway, I use a Canon 580EX II. With the lip that gives access to the reflector and wide angle screen, the Lumiquest attachment does not fit square. In addition, the attachment is a thick flexible plastic type material so because it is not a square fit, the sleeve that you are suppose to slide the gels through buckles and bends. This is the case whether I pull the attachment tight across the flash head or loose. If loose, the sleeve bowls. My point is, this makes it nearly impossible to slide a gel into the sleeve as 1) the gels are thin, and 2) the sleeve itself is not rigid. It's really only a bit thicker than the gel, so between BOTH bending and buckling as you try to slip a gel in, it gets annoying. Too, there is this chemical "film" (for lack of a better word) that seems to create a weird suction inside of the sleeve adding to the difficulty. Follow me here! You know when you apply those plastic protective film sheets over your mobile touch screen or the LCD on the back of your camera, and it creates a sort of static bond with the screen? That is sort of what I'm seeing between the front and back faces of the Lumiquest gel sleeve. In fact, it's exactly like that. Try wedging a gel between your touch screen and its protective covering =)
I was able to wedge my first gel in after a few minutes of struggle. This is useless. Granted practice will help, but I would suggest ignoring this Lumiquest attachment and opt instead for 2 strips of gaffer's tape to attach the gel to your flash head. No velcro all over your flash, no flimsy bendy plastic attachments, and no wasting time trying to force a gel in and out.
Buy the < $10 gel set and forget the Lumiquest attachment. But that's just IMHO.

3 stars for the price and the ton of gels. -2 for the severely annoying gel holder that may or may not fit your flash. This may fit better the 580EX I or 430s. This attachment Nor gels are large enough for my Vivitar 285 Hv. The gels do fit my flash when taped, but there is still slivers of light leak. No problem there really.
