Digital camera reviews of SE Battery Tester (AAA, AA, C, D, and 9 Volt)

Digital camera Review: A handy and easy to use battery tester
Summary: 4 Stars

Works as advertised.Easy to use with instructions on top of tester itself regarding what type (with voltage) of battery it can test and how to align that battery to measure accurately.
If you require accuracy in terms of actual volt/amp rating then you need a multimeter. However for simple checks such as whether you need to change the TV remote battery or not, this meter will do the job well.

Digital camera Review: A very good inexpensive battery tester!
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted a simple and easy to use battery tester and I saw this on the internet. Being a good and reliable seller, I decided to buy this from Amazon. I received this item recently and to me it looked well and neatly made.I tested it with various batteries, AAA, AA, C, D and 9V and it was accurate. It does not use a spring loaded lever as some of the old style testers use and this is a plus. You just move the lever with your thumb to make contacts with the battery terminals. This is a much better design than the old testers with the spring loaded bottom side which would become weak and loose after a while.

From the looks of it, this battery tester should last for a while. Also it is inexpensive enough, that one can buy 2, one for your workshop and one for another place-I did! This is my opinion which should have some credibility since I am an electrical/electronic engineer.

Digital camera Review: About time
Summary: 4 Stars

I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these. We were finally able to sort through all of the batteries and figure out what was good and what was bad. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that we haven't had it very long, so I can't say much about longevity. It works great though and provided my 7 year old with a chore that he likes doing- testing and sorting the batteries. It's easy to read and easy to fit the batteries into place.

Digital camera Review: Absolutely Worthless
Summary: 1 Stars

All the batteries test exactly the same, regardless of whether they were used up, or fresh out of the package. I have a lot of batteries, many which have been used up, and they all had the needle show up between the red and the yellow, which would indicate that they need to be replaced. Fresh Alkaline batteries out of the package test in the exact same place. This product is completely worthless in distinguishing between batteries that are low on charge, and fresh good batteries. I tried both AA and AAA batteries, and they all tested to this exact same spot. Yes, this product was cheap, but it is totally worthless, and will only potentially cost you money as you throw out new good batteries, thinking that they need to be replaced. If fresh, never used Duracells and Energizer Max batteries don't get the needle to go up into the yellow area, much less the green, then there is something fundamentally wrong with this device.

Don't waste your money. What a rip-off.

Digital camera Review: Actually WORKS WELL for the price!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I half expected that this item was going to be a waste of a few bucks. What I got was just what was advertised: a convientent, versitile, basic tester which shows three ranges (good, low, and replace). It tests all of the most popular batteries. I also don't find the hassel of use reported by other customer reviews. I have ADVANCED ARTHRITIS in both hands, and I can test ANY battery with a little patience. The best way that I found to hold it for testing was in my left hand (readout in lower-left corner). With your fingers extended below the sliding arm, to rest the battery on, slowly slide the arm down while slightly pushing the (cylindrical) battery into position. THAT'S IT!!! No big hassel! This tester is fine for everyday use, giving a very good approximation of battery's condition. No more weak or dead batter clutter - a real space save saver. I just may buy one or two more to have on hand: and it also makes a very practical small gift
