Digital camera Review: "A Lot Of Magnification For A Low Price!"
Summary: 5 Stars
I rate this particular item a little higher on the scale of "you get what you pay for", type item. Meaning, that although this magnifier head set isn't what I'd call "built to be indestructible", it is a very well made product for the price range it falls into.
The lights built into the side bands, are aimed exactly to the point that you are looking at. They are also very bright and offer a lot of good light when it's needed.
I use this system for many things. The lights are fantastic for when I use it for repairing/working on, time pieces. I also use this unit when tying my fly fishing flies in the very small sizes. (And, I found out recently, this item is REALLY GREAT for that "occasional pesky splinter", that needs to be removed!)
The Velcro band is a VERY nice feature, I feel, even over the fastening systems often used on far higher priced magnifiers of this type.
Not having to "unbuckle, buckle back together",or even "snap and re-snap" each time I want to use this item is a real plus in my book. Because of the Velcro head band, I can quickly adjust the head band to fit over a hat if need be or just my uncovered head, very quickly and easily.
The lenses appear to be well ground and so far, I've found no flaws in any of them. The "swing down, when needed, swing out of the way when not needed", added jeweler's loupe, is a real big plus for this head system. Besides the swing down jeweler's loupe, there is also another set of full sized lenses to increase the magnification range, that swing down when they are needed and snap into place.
All in all, between the good quality of this item, it's very reasonable price, and the super fast shipping time from the vendor, I rated this item at "5 stars".
I would highly recommend this item to anyone, without any reservations.
