Nice fit, but very cheap finish. After owning for about a month, tiny pieces of the rubberized case began flaking off. It has shiny spots on it where the material has disappeared. Sure the sleek and thin case design is really nice. But give it a few weeks before you review. If you purchase a colored Shield Case (not the clear one), it has a matte coating over the hard plastic. From regular wear such as carrying the iphone in your pocket or purse, like most people do, the coating begins to peel off around the edges. Yes, it would be beautiful if I left it sitting on my desk, but for real world situations the quality of this coating blows. I'd prefer getting the case without the coating in the first place and have a clean smooth finish. Keep reading more reviews as I'm not the only one who waited more than a week to write a review and discovered this issue. After having this case for a few months, the rubberized coating on the outside of it started to scratch and chip off. It now looks pretty crappy, and I will have to replace it. I do carry the case in my pocket where it can rub up against my keys, but I was still pretty dissapointed with the performance. It's possible that you may not have the problem if you carry it in a holster (or a purse).
Otherwise, the case is very sleek if not especially protective. It's basically a thin plastic cover that clasps tightly over your iphone. It will protect the phone from scratches, but I can't believe it provides much benefit if you drop the phone on a hard surface.

Pros:
- the plastic has nice texture and doesn't feel slippery
- good shape, snaps on the phone pretty well
- the cut outs that provide access to buttons are well done
Cons:
- the case doesn't cover the outer edges of the phone. Would be better if it snapped over and covered the entire edge.
- the top and bottom edges are completely exposed and get scratched VERY quickly by keys/change in your pocket
- I wish it didn't have the large cutout for the Apple logo on the back. It looks out of place and collects dust underneath the case.
- the material although has nice texture, scratches quite easily

I just got a new 3GS iphone. This is my 2nd iPhone, the fist being the 2G. For 2G I used Corzip and was going to order a same brand for the new 3GS. However I saw several reviews on the SHIELD and liked the photos. I am very happy I went with SHIELD. Here is my reasons. 1. It kept my iphone slim. 2. The grip is sticky enough to hold but slippery enough for my pants pockets. 3. It molds onto the iphone perfectly and both side are black, not painted over as in my previous Corzip skin. and 4. the edges are rounded, unlike Corzip. It's hard to explain but take a look and compare the two and you will understand. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has the iphone 3GS.
Note, this does not come with a screen protector so you will have to purchase a separate item. I know iphone advertised that it's scratch proof and all that but better safe than sorry.
