Digital camera reviews of SIRIUS SV3-TK1 Stratus Plug-and-Play Satellite Radio Receiver with Car KitDigital camera Review: Great Replacement Radio Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this radio as a replacement for an older, different brand. This model has more features, a bigger, clearer display that offers more info (song title, channel name, artist, the time, etc). It only took a few minutes to install and the antennae works even when it's left inside of my car. I have over 6 different FM frequencies to use in my area so static and distruptions are a thing of the past. I recommend this unit for a first time satellite user or as a replacement radio as it is for me. The only hassle was with Sirius itself-it took over 20 minutes on hold until someone picked up my call to transfer my subscription from my old unit to this new one, but that transfer only took about 10 seconds. I now have 10 of my favorite channels pre-set and the option to change them at any time. Good product overall!!!
Digital camera Review: Great Small Satellite radio Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this at BestBuy with a free $30.00 gift card. I used the gift card to purchase a FM direct adapter. The sound is great and no static. The installation took a couple of hours. I would recommend a service manual for your car to take out the radio to install the direct adapter.
Digital camera Review: Great entry level sirius radio Summary: 4 Stars
First off i want to review sirius because as a company they are great and have a great product. Their customer support is great and the radios are made well and if not they will replace your radio. This one is a entry level radio so it might wear out after a couple of years but for the price you can not complain
Digital camera Review: Great for what it is Summary: 5 Stars
I used the Stratus for about half a year before giving it to my dad and upgrading myself to a Sportster 5.
I will be writing this review based on the product itself, not Sirius customer service.
The Stratus is a good entry-level radio. I bought it on sale for a fair price, and was very happy with how it performed. The display is bright and easy to read. The screen back light is pretty bright even on the lowest setting; good if you're using it in the car but bad if you are using it in a dark bedroom.
The buttons are a little mushy compared to my Sportster, which has a nice crisp 'click' with each push. This won't bother most people, just something I felt worth mentioning.
The unit's size is also impressive. It is very small and slick, which makes it easy to slip into a pocket or glove box. I cannot tell you how many stories I have heard from people who have had radios (and other electronics for that matter) stolen from their parked cars. Remember, stow it don't show it!
All in all, the Stratus is a great entry level radio. It is easy to use and the screen is easy to read. I only used the built in FM transmitter a few times, and it is unimpressive. If your vehicle does not have a line-in jack on the front, or a cassette player, you should seriously consider having an FM Direct adapter installed. The procedure requires the removal of your radio head unit, but once you do the install (or have a pro do it if you're not comfortable with removing the radio) you will be rewarded with static and interference free radio. My only minor gripe are the somewhat soft buttons, but as I stated most people will not be bothered by it.
Digital camera Review: Great starter system Summary: 5 Stars
Very easy to set up. Ease of use A++. Did NOT need the FM extender. Signal strength was Fab - even in the middle of nowhere. Would recommend and purchase again.
