I've purchased 2 WD Passport drives and both failed to work after about a year of light use (once or twice per month). They spin for 2 seconds then stop and then again and again the same thing. They also get very hot and sometimes have trouble stop spinning so they can be ejected. The product is cheap, but I'd rather spend more money for something that won't quit on me. Not durable at all. I carry them around sometimes and am very careful - this might have hurt their performance, but doesn't portable mean that you can carry them between work and home? Isn't this the point? I like to think that I would like this product, but unfortunately I have yet to receive it. Due to amazon's policy on not shipping electronics to APO addresses I was forced to send it to the U.S. just to have it sent from there to Iraq. And since the US Postal service's policy is to place the contents of the package on the outside, visible for all to see, somebody saw a free hard drive staring at them and decided to help themselves to it......Digital camera Review: A Must Have For all PC and Mac Users

I was a little apprehensive about ordering and even using a portable hard drive, but the head of my IT department insisted that everyone get one for our PCs at work. I also use a Mac at home and once I read that this drive was both PC and Mac compatiable, I went ahead and ordered it.
After receiving it, there was virtually no large booklet with insructions, because the drive is so easy to use...for a PC that is. You just plug it in and follow the prompts and you just watch your files copied to the drive. Now for my Mac, this one took more than a little common sense and after plugging it in, there were several files that I had to open up and explore before I figured out how to copy and back up all of my files correctly. I basically used the back-up software on my Mac and indicated where I wanted my files backed up and how frequently. If you're a common Mac user, I'm sure this won't be as difficult as it was for me.
You feel like you are walking around with a million dollars with over 250GB worth of memory in your pocket!!! That's over a million times or computing memory that the Mercury and some of the Apollo space missions had on their modulars!!!
