Digital camera Review: Good drive but does not work on some computers

This might be a good drive, but it is not usable on some computers. To power up, drive requires ~ 650 mA, which is more than USB on my HP laptop can provide.
USB 2.0 Power Booster cable can be used to solve that problem. It combines power from 2 USB ports, but it is currently out of stock on Western Digital store. I am not aware of any alternative solution and I could not find similar cable on the Net.
Before purchase, I would recommend:
1. Check USB settings on computer
2. Check availability of USB 2.0 Power Boost cable

I take many pictures. I was worried that something might happen to them on my computer so now they are all transferred to the hard drive unit. It worked great and I had none of the problems listed in some earlier reviews. I am not a technie and I figured out how to use it. The instructions are quite limited and not very helpful, but it worked fine and made sense after I just tried a few things. With this hard drive, I feel more secure. We are going to buy a fire safe and store this hard drive in it and I will feel even safer!Digital camera Review: Good value...

This HD is great for traveling with a laptop computer. Small, lightweight and classy looking too! I have seen some with issues in being powered by the USB connection, but have not had that problem myself. The speed of the drive is relatively fast - no problems from my perspective.
