Digital camera reviews of Sabrent SBT-UPPC USB to Parallel 6-Foot Printer CableDigital camera Review: Works great Summary: 5 StarsIt took a while to get it working with my laptop with Vista and an HP Laserjet 6P (I don't know what I did wrong or right to make it finally start working), but it works great now. It only works in the USB port I used when setting it up, but that's a problem with Vista, not the cable.
Digital camera Review: Plug N Play all the Way Summary: 5 StarsThe moment I plugged this into my Quad Core Vista system it detected the printer (HP Laserjet 6P), by the moment I got up from under the desk, it was done installing and ready to print. Can not beat it for the price. Just make sure your printer can handle the Parallel to USB transfer, some older printers won't work. Check with your printer manufacturer.
Digital camera Review: Worked great for me (64-bit Vista and HP Laserjet 5MP) Summary: 5 StarsCable is 6 feet long as described, and it comes with a mini-CD labeled "DRIVER", but I didn't need it. I just plugged the cable into my PC (running 64-bit Windows Vista) and Windows immediately recognized it and found a driver. Then I plugged it into my printer (HP LaserJet 5MP), and Windows automatically added the printer. So I printed a webpage from Internet Explorer and it printed fine! Couldn't have been any easier.
Digital camera Review: Seems to work fine but it's not 6 feet Summary: 3 Stars'Bought this roughly one month ago for a Vista 64 bit system using a ten year old Lexmark color jet printer. It was simply plug & play & works just fine. I paid ~$15.00 which was a good price relative to other prices out there. The Amazon price as I write this is ~$3.00 cheaper which is fair given that the unit I received measured from head to toe is actually only 5 feet. So it might be worth asking if given the new lower price, it is now actually only 4 feet! 'Wasn't worth the hassle to return it but do take note especially if you need the advertised length.
Digital camera Review: Plug and Play with Windows XP and ME Summary: 5 StarsI didn't even need to use the disk. It works as a Plug 'n Play, meaning you just plug it in and the "new hardware wizard" on your computer finds it and installs the drivers. Loading up the disk probably will just confuse the computer if it's a newer computer.
It let my older HP printer connect to my newer computer. Great product!
