Digital camera reviews of Saitek Eclipse II Backlit Keyboard (PK02AU)Digital camera Review: Broken keys after a few months of light use Summary: 1 Stars
Four of the keys stopped working after just a few months of light use. I had to switch back to my HP keyboard, which also has issues, but at least the keys work. I won't purchase this brand again.
Digital camera Review: Busted "r" key Summary: 3 Stars
Love the keyboard, but after 2 months the "r" key only works if I some of the time. Other keys only wok (I mean work!) with a solid press.
Digital camera Review: Cheap paint, unreliable operation Summary: 1 Stars
I bought two of these -- one for work, one for home, so I can have the same keyboard at both places (I'm basically a programmer, so that was important to me).
One of them promptly died after three months (right after the 90 day warranty). So, I replaced it with the other; now, a year later, the paint is rubbing off a lot of the keys I hit the most (S and C are most obvious, but many other left-hand letters).
The only reason why I'm writing this review is that I've started to look for a new split keyboard, and this guy is the #1 result when you just search for "keyboard." My advice: avoid. The lights are cool for about a week, then it's boring.
Digital camera Review: Choose Another Summary: 2 Stars
Keyboard lighting not bright enough to show through the letters unless very dark in the room. Two of the keys already failing after a few months. Not worth the money...choose another brand.
Digital camera Review: Close, but no cigar. Summary: 4 Stars
I'm a photojournalist and really need a keyboard with illuminated characters so I can work in a dim room while editing.
First I tried another brand of illuminated keyboard. It fell apart after a couple of months. Then I tried the Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard. It still works after two years, but the darn thing is just not bright enough! I still have to turn on a desk lamp to hunt down odd characters and really LOOK to see the normal characters.
Furthermore, the Saitek's keyboard characters are wearing off. The "C" character is now nothing but a blob; others are getting fuzzy. Don't know if Amazon will post this recommendation, but you should take a look at Logitech's new ultrathin illuminated keyboard. I just bought one and REALLY like it!
