Digital camera reviews of Saitek Eclipse II Backlit Keyboard (PK02AU)

Digital camera Review: A Very Fine Keyboard Indeed - The Saitek Eclipse II (PK02AU)
Summary: 5 Stars

I read reviews on this keyboard until I passed out and decided to give it a try. It is everything that Saitek says it is and it lives up to the hundreds of positive reviews. The nice solid feel and the exceptional "touch" of the keys make it a joy to type on. As a matter of fact, this keyboard is the only computer related item that I have ever purchased that my wife complimented, thought the price was right and asked me to get her one for work. The only thing I wish was a little different would be a slightly longer cable. My computer desk has a slide out shelf/keyboard tray and the cord doesn't quite let it slide out all the way. I'm sure the length meets industry standards...it's just the nature of my particular setup. Buy one, today. Amazon had a great price and free shipping too.

Digital camera Review: A couple keys are finicky
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this keyboard for about six months. I love it, except that the tab and backslash key have to be pressed in the center for them to work. All other keys can be pressed on the corners and work just fine.
The lights draw rave reviews from everyone!

Digital camera Review: A decent keyboard
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been using this keyboard for several months now, and I am pretty much satisfied with the keyboard. I have not had any of the paint rub off the keys as some have. I did notice some minor sticking with the tab or control keys once in a while, but this has not been much of an issue. The tactile feel of the keys is not as good as some other keyboards I have checked; however, I can type just fine on this keyboard. The backlighting works well and instead of having translucent keys, the keys are black with translucent lettering. You can choose from three colors: blue, red and violet. There is also a control to adjust intensity. Also included are some media control and speaker control buttons. This is a USB only keyboard and will not work with a PS/2 port using an adapter. Overall - not a bad keyboard.

Digital camera Review: A good Keyboard
Summary: 4 Stars

This is an excelent keyboard for both multimedia and gaming use. The keys have excelent feedback and the board has zero compatiblity issues with XP SP3, Vista and Win. 7. It looks flashy, but not overdone like some keyboards (See Saitek Cyborg Series). It lacks marcros, so if you like macro keys for your MMOs and RPGs look elsewhere. If you do not want/can't stand unused macro keys and still want a backlit keyboard, I highly recomend this one. I have two complaints with the board. First, the backlighing is not tottally even, which can sometimes be confusing in the dark. Also, it does not save color preferences, so if the user want's any color besides blue they need to change it from the default every time. This may annoy some users. Finally, The feet on the board are fragile compared to similar keyboards.

Pros:
Very nice typing feedback
Backlit
Adjustible brightness dial

Cons:
Some flimsy parts (Feet, armrest)
Does not keep lighing color between sessions

Pro or con:
No Macro buttons
Simple design (less flashy than similar keyboards, but more elegant)
Not many features/very compatable

Digital camera Review: A great find
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been having problems with keyboards lately, either how the keys feel when you type, how well they were manufactured, or just the overall look. This is my first keyboard with illuminated keys and I wanted to try it out since most of the time I type either in the dark or dim lights on in the room. I got this keyboard for only $49.99 with the Amazon Prime discount and it's definitely worth it. I love how the keys feel when you type and it actually lets me type faster and more accurately than with the past 3 keyboards I had. I like the purple lighting the best! I find that most products have red and blue as an effect but not usually purple. I like how you can change the light settings. I will definitely be using this keyboard for quite awhile!
