Digital camera Review: Best Keyboard I've ever used Summary: 5 Stars
I tried a cheaper illuminated keyboard from another company and AS ALWAYS I wasted my money. ARGGG! This Saitek is the real deal. It is heavy, well constructed and has three different light settings to suit your needs / tastes.
I write quite a bit as a pastor and use the keyboard to type at night with out the need for overhead light in the room. You can call it "green" if you want to. I call it cool and soothing to think and write in the near dark using the glow of my keyboard.
Also, I'm one of those old guys who plays FPS (UT2004). It is a very very good gamer board.
Digital camera Review: Best darned Keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I intended to get the best new wireless keyboard I could get; planned to spend about $100. I read the reviews of all the Microsoft, Kensington and Logitech keyboards and found many complaints about all of the wireless keyboards, from reliability to ergonomics to features and functionality.
So I decided to look at reviews of all keyboards to see which ones got the best ratings. I checked Cnet, PC Magazine, [...] reviews like this, etc. One name kept coming up: Saitek, and the latest model, the Eclipse II. Only thing was: no wireless.
After thinking it through about how far away from the PC I get when working and all, I decided to give this one a try. I'm glad I did because I could not be happier with the product! It's well made, nice hefty feel, great touch, and the backlighting is fantastic when darkness is falling or a storm pops up.
I'd reccomend this to anyone, and it was only about $[...] if I remember correctly, so about half what I planned to spend. That'll cover some add'l SD cards or something! It's easily the best keyboard I've owned or used.

Digital camera Review: Best keyboard I've ever had! Summary: 5 Stars
I never really thought I'd spend this much on a keyboard(it's not THAT expensive, I'm just used to cheapish keyboards), but I have to say it was definitely worth it. I switched from an Adesso mini keyboard and the difference is immense. It's extremely durable and very comfortable to type on. I really like the feel of the keys, it's a good in between feel, not too stiff or springy for me at all. I've been using it practically every day for a few months now with no problems whatsoever.
Aside from that, the keyboard looks great. The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit is that I prefer the purple and red colors, and the lights indicating number lock, caps lock, etc. are always blue. But that's not a huge deal, and I love being able to pick the color and intensity of the backlight. The media controls are a nice extra, but I don't really use them too much.
I'd recommend this keyboard to anyone who spends a lot of time at their pc, especially gamers. It looks awesome, feels great, and is well made--you really can't go wrong!
Digital camera Review: Best keyboard I've ever used ... Almost Summary: 4 Stars
I work as a technical systems architect for a major software company, and I spend probably 10-12 hours/day at the keyboard, writing/correcting/debugging code, sketching system designs, etc. - and then pften another 2 or so hours playing computer games as well. This keyboard is connected to a KVM switch and os 'shared' between four systems - 2 linus, 1 win7, and 1 winXP. So far it has not given a moment's trouble with it (even not all high-end keybaords can say that).
I replaced another keyboard with this one roughly 9 months ago and it has absolutely the best touch of any keybord I have used since the old IBM mainframe keyboards. And since it is more durable (having survived both cola and coffee spills (with quick "first aid" I'd actually say it's better.
The response on this keyboard is excellent - when I'm coding I'm a fairly fast typist, and to date I have not had the "dropped character" problem which I had on my previous keyboard when I typed too fast. Of course since it is also a gaming keyboard, that is to be expected. However, many people don't realize it but a lot of programmers type VERY fast and this can be a problem on some keyboards - just not on this one. And by the way, I have not had any of the key-blocking (combinations) issues which several other similarly-priced keyboards seem to suffer from.
The adjustable lighting is good when I want to work late at night with the room lights dimmed or off, and the ablility to control the brightness (from nothing to fairly bright) is a real plus.
The media controls on the keyboard are useful (volume, mute, play, pause, forward, back) work well on both my Linux workstation and a windows 7 bos (with no added drivers or setup for either [although writing this I pulled out the source code and discovered that's because the keys are built into my favorite Linux mp3 player. oops).
The keybaord is heavy enough that it doesn't tend to 'wander' and as I am a big guy (6'7", heavy) I appreciate that.
The ONLY problem I have had with this keyboard is that as may other reviews have pointed out, the paint job on the keybaord is pretty poor in quality, and at 2 moths, a few keys started to disappear, and now after only 9 months I have 15 keys which have nothing but blobs of light where the paint has worn off. Reading other reviews, I discovered that Saitek's warranty will cover this problem, and I'll be contacting them tomorrow to get a replacment.
An excellent keyboard and very much recommended.
