Digital camera Review: Absolutely Horrible

So, I usually don't leave reviews. However, this DVD player is so horrid I felt obligated to leave a review.
I don't have much to compare to for bluray, but the playback is clear the sound is good, and the user interface is good. But that is where the good ends. This player loads horribly slow. I mean really, really slow. A minute plus for non-bluray discs. And at least twice as long for bluray discs. When ejecting a disc it can sometimes take 30 second for the player to process the eject request.
I've got the most current firmware and still some bluray discs just won't play. Sometimes you can eject and re-insert the DVD and it will work, but that's nearly a five minute process by the time you get the disc out and reloaded.
I can't express how frustrating this player is to use. I am probably going to have to breakdown and by a new one. I just hope whomever I sell the used one to doesn't read the reviews for it.

not only the thing will not work most times , it works some times when you keep updating from the samsung site , that makes it work for different DVDs and stop working on the ones that used to work, , when i tried to get the machine fixed , they say it has only 3 months parts warrent , and i have to pay to have it fix . last time i buy samsung..Digital camera Review: Most Features for the Money!

This Blue ray player is the best deal for the money. It has more features than the rest. The smallest down side is we had to go to the internet to download a new version of the firmware for it but it was no big deal for us.
I would reccommend this machine for anyone wanting a great HD experience.

With firmware 080114.01_XAA...
Seems OK. Plays normal DVDs OK, with better quality than a straight SDTV DVD player. Plays the three Blu-Ray disks that we've tried. UI is straightforward enough. Eject is about 8 seconds.
HOWEVER... it doesn't seem to have discrete on/off remote codes. That's just inexcusable for a modern device, and makes controlling a complete system using a high-end remote like a Logitech Harmony problematic. (Yes, I know the Harmony will remember the state of a power toggle... that theory works better in theory than in practice.)
Perhaps the latest firmware includes discrete on/off codes, and perhaps I could get Samsung to tell Logitech the codes, but that's a lot of hassle that I just don't want.
Back to the store it goes.
