Digital camera Review: 3 months for $200 save money go elsewhere

Garbage.
Purchased this item end of January and stopped working 3 months later.
Samsung has been slowly becoming worse and worse, so suggest you find new brand.
I also puchased a 42 lcd from samsung 6 months ago and now the power switch is going out.
So two different products and neither has lasted even a year. I would rather waste my money on some unknown company for half the cost and at least then wont be surprised if the break.
I will never buy another samsung product!

As a technophobe, I ordered this baby with a little trepidation. But my worries were in vain. The ease of set-up and operation was/is fantastic. Downloading the "firmware" update via USB port (modem to player) was easy too. And the improvement in picture quality! Wow! I watched "Then She Found Me" (my first Blu-ray disc purchase) and was astounded. The details! The vibrant colors! The wrinkles! And all this on a 37" screen. The difference is simply amazing. And this machine actually up-converts all my standard DVDs, just as advertised. For under $200, this was one of my best ever purchases. Thanks Samsung. I purchased my Samsung BD P-1500 in February of this year. It played fine until last week (June 19th) when it refused to recognize or play any non blu-ray discs. I tried all the methods advised by Samsung's technical team, including updating the software. Nothing worked. I should note that I took good care of the unit and used it once or twice a week. Perhaps Samsung should do more beta testing before merchandising a product with a four month life-span.Digital camera Review: A Great BD Player!

I am not an expert, but a guy that loves movies, and especially Blu-ray movies. The reliability, picture quality, and speed of the Samsung 1500 is impressive. I own a PS3, a Samsung 1400, and a Sony BDP-S300. However, I am in love with my Sammy 1500. I have tried over 50 of my Blu-ray movies and they all paly perfectly. The load times are significantly reduced when compared to the 1400 and the Sony S300. I paid $350 for my Samsung 1500 player, and was excited about the price. Don't do it. Is it rational to pay good money for something that does not work - right out of the box - with about 20% of the Blu-Ray discs out there? Does it make sense to pay for something and then have to troll the Internet for Firmware, FAQs, etc.?
FACT: If you buy this product, you WILL be running an internet cable to it, you WILL be frustrated because even the latest Firmware update does not fix the problem, you WILL have a moment a clarity when you say to yourself - "you know, my old DVD player looked pretty good", and you WILL realize that you have not bought a new Blu-Ray player, you have bought a TIME SINK.
It should not be this hard, this involved, this expensive (in terms of time). Like I said, don't do it. Go somewhere else, or stay with what you already own, or just go play with your kids, read a book or write a letter.
