Digital camera reviews of Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray Disc PlayerDigital camera Review: Best one Summary: 5 Stars

Digital camera Review: Better than PS3 Summary: 5 Stars
I have botha PS3 and this (the Samsung BD-P1500). While the PS3 is a great blu ray player, I say the Samsung is better for no other reason than price. If you are buying this on Amazon, you'll likely be paying half or less than half of what the price of a PS3 would cost. Performance wise, they are equal (with a couple of minor exceptions that most individuals would never care about). Great deal, great player.
Digital camera Review: Beware Samsung will alter your product without thought Summary: 1 Stars
Months ago I purchased Samsung blu-ray player for a good deal of money - since then I have been quite happy with it. Recently a firmware updated was released - without prior notification it added the ability to have YouTube on the player.
After searching for a way to disable it, I called customer support several times - there is no way to disable YouTube. There is no scenario where I would allow YouTube in my home and expose my family to everything that is vile contained on it. Don't trust me? Don't believe? Search for the keyword boobs and see what you get. Or x or y - you should see my point. I cannot have a product that makes it more difficult than it already is to raise a family.
Samsung did NOT have the feature when it was purchased, did not install with any warning, did not install with any permission and has no way to disable it. To say the least I am a very frustrated customer and now very unhappy with a device that I can no longer have in my home.
Digital camera Review: Beware: wont play many Blu-Ray discs Summary: 1 Stars
Just threw out the Samsung BD-P1500 after numerous firmware updates failed to make titles play. It plays about 50% of the Blu-Ray discs I purchase, takes minutes to load a film, if it loads at all. And thats with the firmware update as of Jan 2009.
Look elsewhere.
Digital camera Review: Biggest Piece of Junk! Summary: 1 Stars
This is the first blu-ray player we bought. It worked for a while, and then all of a sudden everything went down hill. It stopped reading blu-rays; I would have to unplug it and put the disc in repeatedly before it might actually read it. One time I sat in front of the player just putting the disc back in for 15 minutes and it never would read it. It was kept updated as well, so this was not the problem. It would freeze up in the middle of dvds and blu-rays; it would stop playing it all together, or start chopping it. Even on brand new discs that work on other players, this piece of junk would not play it correctly if at all. Eventually, we gave up and bought a sony on sale at our BX and could not be happier with it.
