I too have been very disappointed with this blue-ray Samsung BD-P1500 player. At 4 months, it would no longer play regular non-HD dvd's. So much for up-converting. Had to re-attach the old non-HD player. At 6 months it would no longer play any audio. And of course the warranty ran out at 3 months. No software download or tweaking would fix these problems. I see others have had same problems. Samsung should recall this unit and give us refunds. Piece of junk. Yes, I'm mad.Digital camera Review: BD-P 1500 Defective

I played this devise approximately 6 times with some blue ray and regular DVD's. It just quit working and would not play any disc. I find this to be very unsatisfactory. Samsung can only advise to send it to a service center. By the time I do all of this it will cost me more to fix it than it originally cost. I don't believe I will be replacing it with another Samsung product.Digital camera Review: BD-P1500

Purchased the Samsung BD-P1500. After hearing all the nightmares about firmware updates, freezing...All I can say is WHAT???? This thing plays anything I put in it perfectly, no firmware updates, no nothing. Just purchased a HDM1.3 receiver to get all the new audio platforms.
Go get a BD-P1500!
