Digital camera Review: BEWARE!!!!

I write this to warn others so the turmoil that happened to me doesn't befall those that wish to use this product. This product plays Blu Ray movies very well. Image is great as well as audio. However, DO NOT UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE! If you upgrade the firmware to v2.3 you will lose all DVD playback capability. Samsung has been informed of the problem but for some reason refuses to fix it at this time. I have to go back and install firmware v1.3 so that I can still play DVD's, the fact being that my DVD library is much larger than BD. RECENTLY BOUGHT A SAMSUNG HI-DEF TV FROM AMAZON. WHILE I WAS CHECKING OUT THEY OFFERED ME THE SAMSUNG BLU RAY FOR 199.00. ON IMPULSE I SAID YES. I'M GLAD I DID. THIS PLAYER IS SO EASY TO USE AND HOOKUP WAS A SNAP. YOU HAVE TO BUY A HDMI CABLE PLUG ONE END INTO THE PLAYER AND THE OTHER INTO THE TV AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.THE REMOTE LETS YOU DO ANYTHING YOU WANT, FROM PUSHING ONE BUTTON TO GO TO EXTRA'S IF AVAILABLE ON THE DISC TO OPENING THE DOOR ON THE SET.THE PRICE FROM AMAZON TURNED OUT TO BE 50.00 TO 75.00 CHEAPER THAN ANY OTHER RETAILER OFFERING THE UNIT.Digital camera Review: BLUERAY REVIEW

like it. My T.V. is also a Samsung, and as soon as I put in a DVD.
the T.V. see's the DVD player. I don't have to use the DVD controler
to start the movie. Anyway I'm real happy with my Samsung Blu-ray player.d

I received this player for Christmas. I don't watch a lot of movies so it took longer to reveal the problems with the machine than for some of my fellow reviewers, but it stopped playing Blu-ray discs this past March, so I settled for DVDs. Then it wouldn't play the sound on the DVDs! Unfortunately, we had dumped all the packing and the receipt for the unit so it wasn't even returnable (a lesson learned). Needless to say, no more Samsung products for me.
