This DVD player has broken twice and repaired once in just over a year. The first time, it was still under their 90 day warranty. They required I pay the shipping to get it repaired. Ridiculous. This model has more flexibility, loads faster and has a sharper picture than either of the P8 or P9 models. I sold one of each which I bought to upgrade and kept this one. Now a blue-ray gift has caused me to sell my old standby which never had a glitch in the remote, nor a skip, nor a hang-up. Wish I could say the same for the two later models and their unhandy, unresponsive remotes.Digital camera Review: Bang for the Buck!

We purchased this player within the last month or so and compared to our old unit, which died recently, can I say WOW! I am sure, like many other reviews state, it may have quirks, but we've yet to experience any. Picture & sound are great. Not being ready to jump into a Blue Ray, or HD player, we opted to get this as an interim player. This unit will output DTS and Dolby Digital out of the HDMI cable. Allot of others DO NOT. This unit is so simple even a caveman can use it. Its a perfect gift for an elderly person too because its features are so basic. It only has what you really only need. Very smooth picture with true colors.
