When I bought this to record DVD's off the TV, I did not know I would have to also buy an RF Converter. I can play DVD's and VHS tapes, but in order to record a TV program I still need a converter box. I think the guy said it was because the Samsung DVR did not have dual tuners. I purchased this to go with our new HDTV. We had a 3-D movie that we had watched on our old set and didn't think It was very good. We played it in the Samsung with the up conversion and immediately saw a huge difference in the quality of the movie. The performance was outstanding and made watching the movie very good. I have not tried the recording feature yet but will do so soon.
I gave it 5 stars because it also plays our regular DVD's very good and has played everyone we have put into it very well.

I ordered this from Epsonseller. I believe they do business under the name New Idea and others.
They didn't ship because, I find out from them, UPS canceled their account for non-payment. They stopped answering my requests for information and are refusing to issue a refund or ship the item.
Avoid this seller, and be aware that you won't get much help.
Digital camera Review: Audio sync issues

I bought this DVD recorder combo from Amazon recently. The product is very competitively priced and have tried converting my camcorder tapes to DVD. The picture is coming correctly but the biggetst issue I found is the audio sync. For some reason audio is delayed by couple of seconds. I was bit surprised to find this issue given that Samsung is known for good products.
