Digital camera Review: Great little TV

First I bought the AOC Envision Series LCD HDTV from Costco. It had an acceptable picture from the air antenna and bad picture from satellite and from a DVD player. If I tuned the TV (color, brightness) for one input, the other input's pictures were bad. I had to go through the "find channels" process several times, and some channels were not found. After several hours of tuning and set-up it became obvious that the pictire quality was not acceptable and I returned the TV.
I had none of these promlems with the Samsung LN 19A450 LCD HDTV, which I bought from Amazon. It arrived within days, despite the holiday season. Set-up was easy and quick. Actually, the TV did its own set-up, found all channels, etc., and I had a great picture with all inputs. The only thing I adjusted was the sound equalizer, boosting the low and mid ranges. I bought the TV for my office and could hook it up to my sound system, but I find the sound acceptable.
Amazon also gets 5 stars for the entire experience.

This TV is great on picture/sound, etc. however, while on standby (you can never turn it completely off, unless you unplug it)and on, it emitted a very strong plastic/hot electronic smell. It wasn't hot to the touch, though. Even when unplugged, you could smell it, but worse when on. We had it in the kitchen and there would actually be pockets of the smell as the air currents carried it around. The Samsung LN19A450 19" HDTV has a great picture that I give 5 stars to. However,the speakers on this TV are very poor, and rate no better than 1 star. Once again I am very pleased with the delivery provided by Amazon! My eighty year old mother needed a new tv after her very old tube tv gave up the ghost last week. Since she is a shut-in, wants to keep things simple and doesn't have a lot of space, we decided to stick with the 19 inch, which was the same size as the tube. Thankfully, I was able to find the size she wanted and based on the reviews for the Samsung, placed my order on Wednesday and lo and behold, had it by Friday afternoon. The set up was so fast and easy and Mom is just delighted with the picture and audio. I would definitely recommend this television especially if all you want to do is plug it in the wall, plug in your cable wire, turn it on and enjoy. Oh yes, also the price was just what I could live with.
