Digital camera Review: A sonically challenged TV

Many reviews of this TV note the dreadfully inadequate speakers, and it is painfully true. I've heard better quality sound through a tin can on a string. So be prepared to buy a set of decent speakers if you choose this TV. I must admit that I'm a plasma fanboy who in the past thumbed my nose at lcd tv's. Recently I had a direct lightning strike on my home that fried four tv's, a microwave and garage door opener. I replaced our media room tv with a newer updated 50" Panasonic plasma (TH-50PZ85U) which is fantastic...and for the downstairs livingroom and master bedroom I chose 32" LG Plasmas (very good but no match for the Panny) and then came the dilemma for the kids room and guest bedroom...can't justify large sets or too expensive so I decided to bite the bullet and go with 20"-26" lcd's.
After deciding on this Samsung based on generally favorable reviews I ordered two (shipped lightning fast by Amazon/UPS) and imagine my surprise when I found that the picture quality/features were actually above and beyond what I was expecting! These sets are very thin and light..minimalist bezel and stand with attractive black gloss. The colors out of the box were a little off but with just a few minutes of tweaking I had the sets looking very good...and not just "good for an lcd".
The only cons with this set are pretty minor...the remote feels kind of cheap and is not backlit..but is laid-out well and has buttons for every function. Also another con is the speaker quality...it isn't what I would call bad by any means but a little below average even compared to other lower cost flat screen tv's.
Overall I am very satisfied with not only the tv's but also the great price/fast shipping from Amazon. I haven't converted to an lcd man yet, but I no longer fear them. Kudos Samsung!

It didn't occur to be to even look at Samsung TV's until we had a cable service man over to replace our cable box. We asked him if we were to replace our TV, what brand would he suggest. He said he felt that the Samsung line had the best picture of any he has seen. We wanted to explore his suggestion figuring he must see all brands of TV's on his service calls. So I checked out floor models at various electronic stores and found the picture seems to me sharper than the other ones in the store. I also found the price listed on Amazon was about $100.00 lest than was listed in the stores. The closest retail price occurred when Circuit City was having a going out of business sale and was please that Amazon was still lower. This 22 inch TV was a birthday present for my wife to replace and old analog one in her home office, and she just loved the sleek black design and the excellent HD picture.Digital camera Review: Broke after just 3 months. Wow, what a lousy experience with Samsung. I can't say I would ever buy another product from them: The television stopped working after 90 days. Bad backlight. No picture. They took responsibility (1 year warranty) and gave me a shipping label to send it back, to their credit. I packaged it up very carefully in their original box, including all of the original plastic protective bags styrofoam. The box was in new condition.
It took 3 weeks from the time I sent it back until the time it was returned. Not sure if it's fixed, because I haven't even plugged it in yet - the first thing that I noticed when removing it from the now super beat up box? The entire front of this new shiny black plastic TV now has thousands of tiny scratches all over it. Nightmare consumer experience- cheap electronics break quickly, repairs done slowly, product comes back worse than when it left. Totally dissatisfied.
