Digital camera Review: Almost perfect

Ordered after reading numerous positive reviews here and have been using the TV for about 3 weeks now. First model showed up with serious picture problems. After 10-15 a large bar of discolored or corrupted pixels would appear mid-screen. Called the shipper, Amazon, and Samsung in order to initiate the replacement process. I have to admit, Amazon stepped up immediately, shipping the replacement TV the next day. Had to wait 5 more business days for the new TV to arrive, but man was it worth it! I use this TV exclusively as a monitor for my PS3 and DVD player. If you are looking for an excellent monitor for gaming at 1080P, look no further. This TV at this price is a fantstic package. Every game looks beautiful and the HDMI to optical audio out works perfectly with my surround sound system. Haven't hooked up an HDTV source, but will eventually and I am confident the image quality will be superb. Blu-ray videos look fantastic, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes for optimal playback of 24fps movies. The only con I can think of is the heat, but for a lamp lit LCD, heat radiation is very reasonable - only slightly warmer than my lamp lit 30" Samsung LCD computer monitor.
I really would like to give 5 stars, but the initial problem with picture quality forces me to extend a word of caution. Combined with other comments, the potential for quality control issues is there, but do not let such concerns detur you from ordering. If you are looking for a high performance, high value HDTV, this is the one.

This TV is almost perfect except for the speakers and minor picture distortion during fast moving sporting events, etc.
The picture quality is beautiful and highly recommend the set, but I notice extreme sound distortion from the speakers when the TV is on low volume. It would really be annoying except for the fact that I'm hooked to a surround sound system and rarely listen to the TV without it, but if you don't have surround sound, I'm sure it would be disappointing.
The picture quality is almost as good as plasma, but since I'm in a highly-lit room, I chose LCD. The picture "drag" during fast sporting events like hockey and football is a minor price to pay considering the overall performance.
Would have given 5 stars if not for poor speakers.

WOW! Picture, sound, extras, just WOW!!! However. The sound started going mute on the second day. Reading another review about an overheating problem I tried aiming a pedestal fan at the side of the TV and walla! No more sound problems even after extended periods of viewing. I am trying to reach customer support to see if there is an alternative to returning the TV. This TV is absolutely amazing! Everything looks so "real". We have HD TV and it took me a couple of days to get used to seeing the picture look like I was there. Almost like a documentary movie.
