Ordered this tv from amazon on Tues and received it on Friday with standard shipping. # days earlier then quoted. Everything was great the carrier brought it up a flight of stairs for me, unpacked it and set everything up. explained some features as well. Was torn between this model and the 65 inch Sharp lcd, and glad I purchased the samsung. Size isnt everything as the sharp's specs are sooo much less then the samsung. Its paper thin, and the red toc is great. Tv is super clear as long as you are not staring right at it a few inches away. The sound is great, Not super loud but most that buy this tv will add a sound system to it. If you can't see this tv in person at your local box store trust amazon as when you get this in person it will be the tv of your dreams.Digital camera Review: An AMAZING TV ... a GREAT service from Amazon

Wow, wow, wow!! This is an amazing television. After spending hours in a local best buy and figuring out what I wanted, I was nearly ready to buy it there on the spot. Thankfully, I decided to come home and check out the prices and reviews on Amazon. I am SO glad I did. Not only did the reviews confirm the high quality I had seen in the local store, but it also calmed my fears about buying such a big item over the Internet. I saved HUNDREDS of dollars by buying it from Amazon.
I won't repeat what previous reviewers have said, but suffice it to say that we are COMPLETELY pleased with our purchase. The picture quality is AMAZING, and the free shipping / delivery was right on time. The gentlemen who delivered the TV were very professional. They carried this large TV up to the second floor game room (I was worried that they wouldn't do that) ... then took it out of the box, turned it on, and made sure it had picture and sound. No, they won't hook it up to peripherals, and no, they won't mount it on the wall.... but that's not what they are paid to do. They did exactly what I expected from them.
The only problem we have had since receiving this item is not the fault of the TV .... we have found that our cable service does not have a sufficiently strong signal in our house to provide cable service to this TV. It was able to provide a picture on our older, standard TV, but this baby pulls alot of "juice" from the cable service. Apparently my cable service has been weak, but we just didn't know it. As I write this review, I am waiting for Comcast cable to come back and dig a new cable line in my back yard. This TV didn't CAUSE the problem, it merely HIGHLIGHTED a problem I already had, but just didn't know about.
So in the meantime, we have been watching DVDs and Blu-Rays on this TV. They look AMAZING. Very life-like (and practically life-SIZE!!)
I highly recommend this TV -- and I wholeheartedly recommend Amazon as a seller.

I shopped around a lot before making my decision and I don't regret choosing the Samsung LN52A850. The image is beautiful, the TV is super thin and I love the red accent. My Wife and I weren't even planning to buy another TV yet. We just couldn't resist the price. It was unbelievably lower than local competitors (closest local was $600 more). Free shipping and no tax? Crazy, but great for us. The TV is fantastic. We haven't seen any clouding that was mentioned in other reviews. We must be the lucky ones. The color is miles better than the 46" Sharp Aquos we moved into the bedroom. The picture is crystal clear. We don't have bluray or HD yet, but even standard definition is super clean. We have an upscaling DVD player that makes things so clear they look fake. My only minor gripe was with the delivery/set-up. The guy that delivered didn't set it up as Amazon.com said. He opened the box and when my Wife asked about the set up, he said he didn't do that. I read they were supposed to set it up and turn it on to show you it worked. We had no problems doing it ourselves, it just not what we expected. Can't really complain when we didn't pay for shipping anyway. I purchased this product through Amazon from Electronics Expo. I received the TV on time, spent 5 hours setting it up with my home theater and making sure everything was perfect. The picture quality is absolutely amazing. 4 Days later while watching the basketball game, the TV made a loud popping noise and turned off. I was unable to get a picture after that. I contacted Electronics Expo thinking they would just send me a new one since the one I bought was defective. Boy, was I wrong. The person I spoke to went on for several minutes about their policy and made me feel like it was my fault the TV died. He said there was nothing they could do and asked me to call Samsung. I then contacted Samsung and was told they would need to send a service tech out to look at the TV but it would be about a week before he could come out. I had no choice so I waited, took the day off from work when he was scheduled and then he didn't even come out. He called me the day of and asked what the problem was and I told him. He said there was no need for him to come since he knew what was wrong with the TV. He said he would have to replace the panel but did not have any available and would have to order one. He said they would call me to re-schedule the service. It has now been 3 weeks and I am still without a TV. I have contacted Samsung and they tell me to call the local service center but when I do I get an answering machine. I tried contacting Electronics Expo to see if they could call Samsung on my behalf. I was made to feel like a nuisance but afetr talking to a supervisor she took my information and said she would call Samsung on my behalf and would call me back to let me know what they said. I never heard back from her. Needless to say, this purchase has been a nightmare. I had to send in my credit card payment for the purchase price of the TV already. It doesn't feel good paying over 2 grand for a product that doesn't work. I am not giving this TV a bad rating, it is a wonderful TV, but I feel its necessary to warn other people before they purchase through Electronics Expo.
