Digital camera reviews of Samsung LNT4661F 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Digital camera Review: Awesome TV
Summary: 5 Stars

I considered the Sony and the Sharp equivalents and ended up with the Samsung 4661F. No issues, great picture and super price from Amazon.

Digital camera Review: Awesome TV So Far
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this TV last week and picked it up over the weekend at the shipping facility. So far it is amazing. The picture quality, brightness, and contrast ratio are outstanding. Standard def. TV looks fine...HD TV looks nearly as good as some HD and Blu Ray DVDs I've seen. Normal DVDs look great as well. My XBox 360 is stunning on this set. So far no ghosting or any other kind of distortion, even on fast moving games like Gears of War or Rainbow Six Vegas. The menu system for the different options is nice and easy to use. I would highly recommend this TV for anyone looking for a high quality, but fairly "inexpensive" HDTV.

Digital camera Review: Awesome TV, but beware CEVA (formerly Eagle) delivery
Summary: 5 Stars

We recently purchased the Samsung 4661F HDTV after reviewing multiple HDTVs. We originally saw the 4661F and the glossier, more expensive, counterpart at Best Buy. Both models were much more expensive in the store so we checked them out at Amazon. The 4661F is a much better buy, in our opinion. The lower price and complete lack of glare are absolutely awesome. We have 6 floor-to-ceiling windows in our living room right where we placed the TV and there is absolutely no glare or shine (even when we have the lights on nearby). This HDTV is absolutely great as a 46' computer monitor (for both PC and Apple). It's awesome for Photoshop work and even great for regular Word use. It's also great for watching instant streaming Netflix videos. I'd definitely recommend using an SVGA cable over the S-Video to maximize your resolution all the way to 1080p.

As for the price, we saved a bundle by ordering through Amazon. The price was much lower than in stores, and the Free shipping, no sales tax, and free additional remote were awesome bonuses. The internal tuner was also great. We attached our old bunny ears and got local channels and a bunch of clear HD over-the-air channels too!

Now...for the downside.

Prior to ordering, we read the reviews for CEVA Freight Managment (formerly Eagle) and we were pretty nervous. Some of the reviews were positive, and some were very negative...but we decided to take a chance.

We're sorry to report that the negative reviews rang true for us.

We ordered our HDTV on Dec. 15 and CEVA shipped it the next day. We got an email from CEVA asking us to call them to schedule a delivery time. (At this point, we thought the positive reviews were going to be right...boy, we were wrong.)

I called CEVA to schedule the appointment, but instead of scheduling a time for delivery, the woman I spoke with didn't schedule any time at all. She told me that it would probably arrive soon. I gave her my phone number (which was also included in the Amazon order) and she assured me that CEVA would call me once the item arrived to schedule the delivery.

Using the tracking number, I followed the shipment and saw that the Arrival Scan listed the TV in my city on Dec. 18. Did I get that call from CEVA, as promised? Nope. I gave them the benefit of the doubt (before the holidays, and all) and waited.

Dec. 19...still no call. So I re-checked the shipment tracking. To my surprise, the tracking now listed an Arrival Scan in my city on Dec. 19th! The Arrival Scan on Dec. 18th was now deleted and a new Arrival Scan was dated on Dec. 19th. At first, I thought my eyes were deceiving me, but I compared my print out from the prior day and confirmed that the tracking info had been switched. And still no call from CEVA.

I called CEVA again and got shuffled around repeatedly. I finally got in touch with someone and told them what happened and that I was trying to schedule my delivery for the second time now. I asked whether the item could be delivered that same day since it had already arrived in my city the day before. They claimed that they could not deliver it. They said that the delivery staff was already out for the day and that it could not be picked up for delivery. They said that once delivery staff left for the day they would not come back to pick up more items. (This later proved to be untrue...see below). I pressed them to schedule me for a delivery date and time and this time, they promised that it would be delivered the next day (Friday) between 4-7 pm. I asked them to send me a confirmation email with my scheduled delivery date and time included. They did.

But did they honor it? Nope.

We came home early to make sure that we'd be there for the delivery...4 o'clock came around...then 4:30. Just to be sure, I gave CEVA a call. Was our TV on its way? nope. It was still sitting in their loading dock. After reading other reviewers describe how their HDTV was "lost," we started to get worried. I complained and said that I had proof of our scheduled delivery time. The guy I spoke with (Steve) claimed that he didn't know why the TV was not already out for delivery. He told me that a delivery guy (Ricky) was standing right in front of him and he asked me to hold on while he asked Ricky to deliver the TV for us that night. After he got back on the phone with me (a long while), he said that Ricky would deliver the TV to us that evening. I pressed and asked if Steve was sure that Ricky would deliver it (who wants to wait countless hours on a Friday night when you could be out enjoying yourself?). All Steve could say was that Ricky would give me a call and "you can schedule a delivery time with Ricky." Wait - I thought I already scheduled a delivery time?! Multiple times!! Ugh. I made sure that Steve had my phone number (he claimed that it was not in the CEVA system...which made no sense, considering that I gave every CEVA staff member my phone number each and every time I called them. Were they just making clicking/typing noises into a fake computer system to amuse me?

We waited...
and waited, and waited.

Ricky didn't call us at all (no surprise there). I called Steve back. Steve claimed that Ricky left with our HDTV and was now at the airport and on his way to our neighborhood. I asked Steve for Ricky's phone number since he was obviously not going to call us himself.

When I called Ricky, he was incredibly rude. He told me immediately that he wouldn't deliver our HDTV that evening and just demanded that he would deliver it on Saturday. He claimed that it wasn't his fault that the HDTV wasn't delivered and said that everyone at CEVA was trying to pin it on him. He then claimed that he didn't have the HDTV with him at all and that he would have to go all the way back to the CEVA office to pick it up if he was going to deliver it that Friday night. I couldn't believe my ears and the complete lack of responsibility. I told him point blank that Steve told me that Ricky was standing right in front of him when I was on the phone. I told Ricky that I even heard Steve call Ricky's name and then talk to him. Obviously Ricky WAS at the CEVA office earlier. Ricky kept denying that he knew anything about the delivery and just demanded to deliver it Saturday morning. He said he would deliver it at 10 am. Fearing an inexplicable/unaccountable disappearance of our TV, we had to agree, but before getting off the phone with Ricky, I asked him again - "So, you're sure you're going to deliver it at 10 am tomorrow?" and he just responded, "yea...around 10." Wow, what a confidence booster. No apology, nothing.

As if this were not annoying enough, while I was on the phone with Ricky, I got an email from Amazon claiming that CEVA had been "unable to contact" me at the phone number listed on my order. The email required me to call CEVA to give them my "proper" phone number - or else they would not deliver my TV by the deadline. How on earth could this be possible when I gave Amazon my phone number AND gave CEVA the very same number every single time I spoke with them??!! Not to mention the fact that I was on the phone with CEVA just before I received the email from Amazon?

I called Steve back to let him know what was going on. I told him about the email and told him that I had given CEVA my phone number every single time I spoke with them. Obviously the phone number was "proper" if I was using it to talk to Steve all of these times. I also told Steve that Ricky claimed to not even have the HDTV with him and Steve reassured me that Ricky was, in fact, right in front of Steve when he gave Ricky the order to deliver our TV that same Friday evening. Steve put me on hold and called Ricky's phone to try and convince him to deliver the TV that evening.

No surprise here - Ricky refused. Steve got back on the phone and said that Ricky refused to deliver the TV (which WAS in his possession) since he "already made 3 runs" that entire day. Oh boo-hoo. Strange that CEVA schedules deliveries with clients between 4-7 pm but the delivery staff won't work past 6?!

After wasting most of our Friday night dealing with CEVA on the phone, we wondered if our HDTV would also mysteriously go missing. The next day, we expected that Ricky would either make us wait all day past 10 am or would try to come by before 10 am so that if we weren't there he could claim it was our fault that he couldn't deliver it. We were right - he called us at 8:45 am and he rudely asked me whether I was there at my house. I told him I was ready and waiting for the delivery. In a horrible tone, he demanded, "Are you sure?! You're ready?! You'll be there?!" Ugh. He kept pressing rudely, "You sure?? You'll be there??" He ended the call by literally ordering me to "make some coffee" and "have it ready" for him.

I have to say, I was very glad that my husband was with me when Ricky arrived. I don't think I would have received the delivery if my husband were not home. Ricky called from the intercom and demanded that we buzz him in. My husband told Ricky that he'd meet him at the door (he wanted to make sure that the TV was carefully carried on the stairs and not mysteriously dropped). Ricky just kept yelling to be buzzed in so my husband just left and met him at the door. Ricky arrived with another moving guy and my husband said they were not careful at all on the stairs.

When he got inside, they put the TV down and ripped the box open. I swear it was a miracle that he didn't scratch the surface. We tried to connect the TV to test it and he rushed us, demanding that it was fine and we could figure out everything else after he left - he was double parked and he needed to leave. Again, boo hoo.

We made him wait before signing the delivery receipt.

OMG. I feel for every person on here who has had such a horrific experience with CEVA. Please be careful with this company. The HDTV itself is absolutely wonderful and has met or exceeded our expectations, but CEVA was incredibly unprofessional (everyone on their staff blames everyone else and no one seems to have any answers). We only got our HDTV at all by being as persistent as possible, and by documenting who we talked to and telling them we had copies of tracking info. The rude taunting by their delivery staff is also very troubling. Don't receive packages by yourself. :-/

It baffles me that Amazon continues to use their services.

Digital camera Review: Awesome TV.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been wanting a 1080p LCD set for awhile now. This tv rocks compared to my last tv which was a 50" dlp by samsung. I play alot of xbox games and watch a ton of blu-ray movies on my ps3. Everything HD I throw at it is beautiful and crisp. SD channels are not the best but it was expected. The tv itself is very slick. Fingerprints and pawprints can be a problem, along with dust. Some other reviews I have read were bashing on the speaker quality, but any one knows, 5.1 or higher surround sound is a must for any HDTV. I would recommend this TV to anyone who can afford it.

Digital camera Review: Awesome job Amazon!
Summary: 5 Stars

From ordering on-line to refunds for price differences, Amazon has exceeded my expectations. Great LCD (LNT4661F), excellent delivery and setup, also saved $280.00 in price reductions. Way to attract the business Amazon. Wife loves you also. Keep it up!

A happy customer!
