Digital camera reviews of Samsung USB 2.0 8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive SE-S084B/RSBNDigital camera Review: Burn Baby Burn Summary: 5 Stars
This little DVD burner works great with My Acer ONE netbook. I bought it so I could make a backup of the installation media which for some reason is no longer included with new laptops. I found this device to be insanely easy to set up and use. Simply plug it in. Windows found it immediately and it burns pretty fast with NO coasters so far.
Used it to play the Dr. Horrible DVD I purchased on Amazon. Plays without lag and is fairly quiet for such a small device.
The casing looks a bit cheap to the eye but to the touch it seems much more substantial.
Recommended for Netbook Users and those with opposable thumbs. (required for making USB connections.
Digital camera Review: Clear up the misunderstood Summary: 5 Stars
You may have read some reviews that say you "HAVE" to have both USB plugs in. This is true if you have USB 1. If you have USB 2.0 the you'll only need one plugged in. This is a great drive, it's very quiet and doesn't get very warm. Works with Apple computers right at plug in.
Digital camera Review: Compact & light weight Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Samsung DVD writer to go with my ASUS Eee PC 1000HE as it does not have a built in CD or DVD drive. It works great with it and is light weight so you can travel with it. It was easy to install. I would recommend to anyone who needs an external DVD drive.
Digital camera Review: Compact , simple to use. Summary: 5 Stars
The Samsung SE-084B works great, compact and sturdy. I have the Acer Aspire One Netbook and it immediately recognized the burner. I found that it only worked when I used one of the plugs. When I used both plugs CD programs would not load, so I only use one plug and I have no problems. Its great and convenient. Good design.
Digital camera Review: Crap Summary: 1 Stars
This piece of crap is USB powered and requires two USB ports. It comes with a splitter cord to plug into both of your USB ports. It won't work with a USB hub.
Other than that, it seems really cheap.
