Digital camera reviews of SanDisk 8 GB Extreme III CF Card SDCFX3-008G-A31 (Retail Package)Digital camera Review: Good Card Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the 8.0GB in addition to the 2.0GB card for my 10 day trip. Works great as usual with my Olympus E500. At 8MP JPG setting it holds about 1200+ pictures. For $99 it was a great deal.
I took this card with me on my vacation. This card crashed? once. For unknow reason after a few days of use part of the picture files couldn't be recognized by my Olympus E-500. But when I load the card to the computer the files were there. I reformated the card. Hopefully doesn't happen again. This condition also occurred with my 2GB CF Extreme III card.
Digital camera Review: Good Stuff Summary: 5 Stars
Works as advertised and doesn't skip a beat when shooting 4-5 frames per second. You'll love it especially if you shoot RAW.
Digital camera Review: Good card Summary: 5 Stars
You can get cheap cards but you'll pay for it if you have a fast camera that needs the write speed this card offers. I have a canon 5DmkII and have had no problems at all w/ it.
Digital camera Review: Good card, no problems. Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this CF card about a year ago when I found a good deal on it.
No problems with the card itself, works fine. Although I don't use it very often - I have 2-2GB CF cards of the same brand, 2-4GB microdrive CF cards and then this one. The 2GB cards fill up rather quickly when shooting RAW files with my DSLR, and with this 8GB version I feel a bit like "putting all my eggs in one basket" - I'm always weary about loosing pictures, esp when I shoot portraits in my business. I much prefer my 4GB microdrives but this card has been a good one so far - I've mostly used it as a backup card for those images I'm still working on and haven't backed up to CDs yet, which frees up my 4GB microdrives.
Digital camera Review: Good solid product and works as advertised Summary: 4 Stars
I use it on a Canon 40D. This gives me around 580 photos per 8GB RAW format. The writing is fast considering the 6.5fps from 40D. After the 17 RAW continuous shots, I need to wait for 3-5 seconds for all the data to be recorded.
I am happy with the purchase and recommend it.
Given 4 stars as I have taken max 1000 shots and yet to put it to real stress. The lag of 3-5 seconds after continuous shooting also is a downer but this is not a very regular scenario and hence I am satisfied with the purchase.
