I really like this card reader. It is nice to have one reader that is able to read many types of cards (as everyone here has something different!). I actually put a shorter cable on it and we do not leave it plugged in while not in use.

I bought this becuase downloading pictures from my Digital Rebel XT Camera took forever and a day to complete. Using this drive only took about a minute to download 2 Gigs of pictures!
You don't need the CD if you have windows XP.
