Digital camera Review: Best thing ever?

This is a great product for a very cheap price, more than worth the money. Price in store for similar items cost twice as much. It comes with some software which you must install the first time, but you can change that option afterwards. Some of its capabilities are pretty useful, such as the ability to install programs directly to it so you can use it on other computers. Unless you want 8 GB, this is the flash drive for you!

I purchased a 1GB Cruzer months ago and a 4GB Cruzer today. I originally didn't know what the U3 option was but I figured it wouldn't hurt having it. It is extremely annoying when you're using a Mac, as someone pointed out, you can do anything with the U3 on a Mac but you do get the useless CD icon.
This morning I read the comments where someone said you can remove the U3 from the SanDisk website so I decided to try it. I carefully followed the prompts only to watch in horror as it deleted the U3 program BUT it also deleted all my files!!! I immediately called SanDisk customer support who told me the only thing they could do was to offer a $150 U3 software that may or may not find my lost files.
If I ever find the guys that created the U3 option, especially the removal software I'll give them a real piece of my mind.

I recently purchased this 4 GB drive for two reasons - the storage and the U3. I am only half satisfied because I discovered only too late that the device is incompatible with Windows Vista. The stick still works as a storage unit, however, but that was only part of the allure.
I seems that the U3 element of this USB drive is hardcoded, and this particular stick has a device version that is incompatible with any Vista upgrade (merely upgrading the Launch Pad software is useless).
So, I must warn against purchasing this device, unless you plan on sticking with XP for much longer.

Now that I'm getting into much bigger files to transfer, I needed a larger thumb drive. I've been very happy with this drive and I usually try to go with SanDisk because I never had any problems with their thumb drives or other storage media in the past. This was my first exposure to these handy little storage drives, and I'm still thrilled with it two weeks later! Our home computer started to die recently, and although I have always had monthly backups of important data on CDs, I was desperate to get all my data off the dying computer. It would have taken many CDs and hours to do it, but a friend suggested this little disk, and in desperation I bought it.
It's got a whole 4 GB of memory, which handled all my irreplaceable digital pictures, banking info, favorite websites, emails, etc. etc. It copied everything in just 15 minutes, and quickly restored it to our new computer.
I like the sturdy plastic cover, and the little switch that lets you retract the USB plug so it doesn't get broken or bent. And it has a light that comes on to let you know the computer and stick see each other. Remember not to remove the stick from the port until you push "eject" on your screen (a window pops up). Once the light goes out you're free to remove it.
I can't say enough about how convenient and easy this product is! Six stars!
