Buyer Beware! The Sandisk Cruzer is NOT the drive you want to store Microsoft Office files. I used my drive for app. two weeks without incident. All of a sudden, several Excel files failed to load and a dialoge box opened saying a file was corrupted; then a few Word files were corrupted. Now all the Office files are corrupted. Arrrrgh!!! I hate this stupid thing! Several hours worth of work is gone forever because I saved it on my new SanDisk 8GB Micro drive. I used it for a month or so with no problem. Last week, I had my first corrupted file. Now I have dozens of corrupted files! Thankfully, I have a backup of most (but not all) of them. If I didn't have a backup, I'd just be out of luck. I will NEVER buy another SanDisk product. (And yes, I was always very careful to use either the Eject button in the Cruzer program or the Eject button in Windows beside the clock.)Digital camera Review: Could be great, but comes with bloated U3 software

If you plan to use this on a mac, you'll want to remove the bloat 'ware the comes installed on this drive (it's only compatible with windows). Simply formatting the drive in disk utility won't work because Sandisk sneakily put the junk on a 2nd partition.

It's otherwise a nice little thumbdrive for a great price, but I wish manufacturers didn't preload what should be a simple thumbdrive with software that's not even compatible across multiple platforms. And then they don't even bother to include the uninstaller.

I love my SanDisk 8GB Cruzer. I already have a 2GB by SanDisk which I also love but the 8GB storage capacity is great. Also enjoy being able to download programs with the Smart U3. Judy L.
